What are you even talking about?

Huge corporations provide insurance to their employees. They certainly wouldn't be opposed to saving 3 to 7 thousand a year on each employee.

Some of y'all get so caught up trying to use tag lines that you aren't even making sense.

:mjlol:
Whelp my response was directed to politicians who are working for pharmaceutical companies. Guess you didn't understand that. Obviously, as you mentioned single payer would tremendously benefit our economy. Don't think anyone is disputing that

Well obviously pharmaceutical companies are going to do why goes best for the pocket.

Similarly I imagine you see a decent amount of backlash from research universities as well.

I spoke about my views on corporations a while back in a thread with @JahFocus CS when we were talking about workers rights and the negative affect on citizens as the courts continued to rule in favor of corporations having the same rights as people.

Absolutely, but we aren't allowing employers to, we are forcing them to/requiring it by law.
My question is why should employers be liable for healthcare cost?

Because the government isn't providing health insurance to everyone and thus the employer system is the next best way to cover as many people as possible.

My issue with your view is that you make it seem as though the benefits are one sided. Many companies are not legally obligated to offer insurance but they do so anyways because it attracts better talent. Also health care costs are tax deductible by the company and as you're well aware these are costs that are passed down onto the consumer.

Do you also believe employers shouldn't be liable for social security taxes? Medicare taxes? How about employment or workers comp? I think it's more an issue of creating a system that's easier to manage, because the alternative is that the government manages these programs and funds them through direct taxation.

Damn, Bernie getting more accomplished than our president. Maybe not being president was best because he can accomplish more.:wow:

Speaking about the President.... just play Trump's praising of single payer in GOP counties across the country in ads.

The thing centrist/third way types don't realize is that setting the parameters of the fight is just as important as the act of trying to push/pass the legislation.

It's like a boxer who dictates the course of the fight by forcing his opponent to fight inside or always keeping him at bay with a strong jab.
