Because Republicans won and when they say they are going to do something that makes sense, holding their asses to it and quoting them makes it a point of emphasis.
In the best case they follow through and fix something a lot of us on the left have been bothered by forever. In the worst case they don’t and something they campaigned on can be cited and used against them to people who paid attention and voted with that promise in mind.
