I'm talking bout melodic rap in general, Future been out for over 10 years. shyt, AlL About The Money with Thug and TI was 8 years ago... This melody rap shyt ain't nothing new.
Yeah but nikkas updated the sound…

It sound different compare Durk “Days Of Our Lives” or “Bang Bros” to his current product. 10 years ago nikkas used to really drown their voices in auto tune the sound is updated same as how rapping had innovations in flows and lyricism.

But to complain that Griselda nikkas of all people not adopting that sound is retarded........

If they did, y'all same nikkas woulda been saying they 40 years old why they trying be like the young nikkas :unimpressed:

There's literally no point for nikkas to bring up Durk in here period. Herb would've made more sense since he made music with Benny already.

Not asking them to do that they should stick to their guns for as long as they can in their niche.

Exactly, but nikkas in here bringing up Durk because of "numbers" when GxFR always stuck to their niche while expanding to work with more mainstream nikkas that jump on THEIR style of tracks.
They got nikkas like J. Cole, Sauce Walka and 2 Chainz rapping over drumless shyt etc.

But we in here comparing Benny and Durkio :mjlol:

Sounds like you’re not really a fan of hip hop, just a fan of what’s popular. You were a fan of rapping when it was popular. Now it’s singing that’s popular so you’re on to that. Nothing wrong with that. That’s most people.
Nah, I wish there was more rapping going on but I like the melodic music too.

I made this thread.

Freddie Gibbs: “We ain’t gon have rap in 5 years if u nikkaz don’t start rapping again”

For me at this point I just want more balance in the music it’s like everything is some street shyt.

They didnt engineer this album properly
Finally someone said it. It's a great album but the mixing on here felt off. Also realized Benny wasn't adlibbing as much as he usually does which made some records feel like drafts (kinda flat and empty). Lyrically the album is superb though.

It’s not just one sound breh. There’s like a dozen sub-genres within hip-hop. This is a lane. Durk is another lane.
