And that is why people don’t vote in the first place.
Nina Turner when comparing Biden to Trump called it picking between a half a bowl of shyt and a full bowl of shyt. No matter which one you pick it’s still a bowl of shyt.
And what have we gained since Biden took office? Not a damn thing. It’s no different than Trump being in office honestly. Student loan debt relief, gone. Voting rights act didn’t even make it to the floor for a vote. Roe vs Wade abolished. No immigration reform. No healthcare reform. Lost the majority in the House of Representatives.
It’s just a never ended cycle of two parties gaining control and losing it. The only people who consistently benefit are rich people and corporations.
This is a wild argument to make given that we literally watched Trump stack federal courts with unqualified straight up racist, anti-black judges for four years. Biden reversing that tide with progressive/liberal judges (the most ever for a first term president) is reason alone to support him. Not to mention the other things that have been pointed out in this thread. People want to sound smart by acting blind. You bring up Roe v Wade being shytcanned as a negative for Biden, as if Trump didn't add the three Supreme Court justices to the bench who made it possible. Surely if you give a shyt about that issue (I'm guessing you don't) you would understand it's better that Biden/Generic Democrat select the next Supreme Court justices than Trump/Generic Republican.
This is a game, and whether you acknowledge it or not the ball is moving no matter who the president is - the question is how much you're getting hurt or helped by that movement. Having watched Trump actively work against the interests of black people, women, workers, etc for 4 years I find it disingenuous as fukk for someone to argue going back to that is fine because Biden isn't perfect. I'd argue Biden has gotten far more done than I assumed he would, and he's been bolder than I expected (Afghanistan, aggressive judge agenda, Chips Act/manufacturing jobs, etc).
I think most people recognize all this which is why voting participation rates have spiked over the last few years. In 2016 people were told it doesn't matter who wins so why support someone you dislike. Three right wing Supreme Court justices, a historically botched global pandemic response, and an economic collapse is what we got. Lot of people are not falling for the "both sides" shyt again.
