I don't even think it's that hot of a take bro. Boldy has become a monster in a very short time. He's never on social media and he and Al don't hype these albums besides doing a few videos for each one. So it seems surprising. But yeah, Boldy has become one of the best rappers in the game. He was NOT rapping like this 5 years ago, or even 2 years ago.

P is literally my favorite rapper of all time, and one of the only people that I've never met where I was legit distraught when they passed. I do think there are a lot of unique things about P that will never be duplicated. The way he weaved in conspiracy stuff and the spiritual element he was on near the end of his life. Classic group albums. Crazy non-sequitur bars that were hilarious but menacing at the same time.

All the different aquatic references from so many points of view on Ocean Prime by Boldy highlights some crazy type of thinking. I feel like Prodigy might've written a verse like that. Rapping about vanishing in the Bermuda Triangle and stuff like that. And how perfect would P have sounded on Flight Risk and EPMD?
:mjcry:

But yeah. Setting aside the P comparison, Boldy is just one of the best out. He arguably out rapped every feature on Bo Jackson. And how many people can flow like liquid over a weird ass beat like Speed Trap?
:mindblown:

I really hope Boldy is on Tana Talk 4 :banderas:

I been a boldy fan since I first heard JIMBO but never in a million years did I see him progressing to this point.

Hell after M1CS I thought he was kinda done honestly. He didn't come out with too much that was really making me search his music out and his e-buzz seemed to have died out. I thought his career had stalled on some mr. Muthafukkin exquire shyt.

Side note. Mr mfn exquire is one of the dopest rappers out that if given the right direction I think could have a resurgence. He's as skilled as anyone else alchemist is working with and I'd say anyone on griselda including Benny. Exquire has some of the highest highs and his flow is immaculate. What are your thoughts on him?

How the fukk did this thread even turn into a Boldy James thread? Come on y’all :stopitslime:
I mean you contributed a fair share :heh:

also I’d argue we aren’t that off topic. And Alchemist is executive producing both their albums. He’s likely on Tana 4. He’s a fellow Griselda member. Talking about Boldy in a Benny thread is no different than talking about Conway or Westside.
:manny:

it’s all love :salute:

He confirms the album drops Feb. 11th. He won't confirm any guests besides the Griselda cats, Diddy, and Cole.

It’s about damn time, I don’t rock with BC like I used to but being on their platform exposes you to a larger audience and seeing these type of rappers on their shows that people still like lyrical rappers.

Apparently some of the folks that have heard the whole album have said it sounds a little more triumphant and epic than Tana Talk 3. Still obviously gritty with the full production from Al and Daringer, but apparently a little smoother than Tana 3.

Which would make sense. And sounds like a dope sound to me.
