I think at one point Ben did care but what happened in Philly with the fans, Joel throwing him under the bus, Doc, etc pretty much destroyed him mentally from a humiliation pov to the point where he gave up. He's not even trying, I still believe there's a good player underneath what we're seeing from him but it's too late for him to mentally recover.

As someone who has interacted with Ben while he was in Philly, he is legit weirdo and I partially blame his parents for coddling him which shows in the one and done documentary. Add to the fact that he really lacks self awareness and you have a recipe for disaster
