Dude if you what to be a smartass u cud also mention the 2 other supermans chris reeves did in the 80s.Obviously i was trying to convey that the last real superman movie was superman II :beli:
Just like batman begins, right? :mjpls: u cant play that shyt again.Ppl knew with nolan at the helm this wasnt going to be the superman we knew and it built intrigue.I never said it was a failure it just didnt reach the success the studios hoped.Bringin in bats to help push units kind of punctuates this but its whatever.
Who is being a smartass? The last Superman movie was Superman Returns in 2006 and that was just as real a Superman movie as any of the Donner/Reeves flicks were.

And you have no idea what WB considered a success threshold for MOS, all you can go by is the public statements the studio has made and the fact that the sequel was immediately greenlit. MOS 2 is a high priority tentpole for WB, they don't put that much weight behind a franchise if it is an underperformer. And the expansion of the cinematic DCU was made a paramount goal as evidenced by the inclusion of Batman in MOS 2. It is not to "push units", WB wants to get its unified DC movie universe rolling and the best way to do that is by having their only historically successful DC film characters interact. From the combo of Batman/Superman it then opens the door for the Justice League. WB is trying to play catch-up to Marvel/Disney and they don't have the time or inclination to put out solo movie after solo movie like Marvel did leading up to Avengers so they are taking a different route to the Justice League.

You have an issue with the film personally which is fine, I thought Iron Man 3 was a huge pile of shyt aside from RDJ's performance but my personal opinion doesn't change the fact that the movie is a success and the same goes for your personal feelings and MOS.

Nolan at the helm ??????? Helm of what ? He's a producer and his brother wrote it . It has nothing to do with Nolan fanboys its just the action packed superman previews drew in people .
Yes they wanted to capitalize off of the avengers success but you think if mos flopped after green lantern flopped they just say fukk it and release a jla movie ?!!? You can't be serious . Superman returns was a financial success and couldn't even get a sequel , the last jla attempt failed you think they wanted to rush it out damned the interest level ?
None of us know what dc wanted for superman to make ( I'm sure they would of loved a billion dollars ) but the execs say they are happy and its getting a fast tracked sequel so its safe to say they were pleased with the return . they put Easter eggs for batman in mos movie for a reason you can't say they didn't plan to include in mos 2 like you claimed and only threw him in to drum up interest .... Your claiming your opinion is fact but nothing backs you up
like what? :why:

I'm just going to say this is a bad move, a virtual unknown would have been better, batman is a man of little words

:pachaha:

But I'm hoping Affleck knocks it out of the park. I'm on his side here. I want to see him succeed. He came back from a lot of shyt to becoming one of the most respected actors and directors in Hollywood. I'd just love to look back on this and be like "Hmmm. I was right." :obama:
I had faith in Ben and it looks like it's going to pay off. :blessed:
