Becky Lynch On What Makes A Wrestler Work

Becky Lynch recently did an interview with SI.com to talk about the anniversary of her becoming "The Man" and here are the highlights...

“Wrestling is 20% about the matches and 80% about how you engage with the people who care about you,” said Lynch. “I remember walking through the building at WrestleMania 35, passing by The Undertaker and Hulk Hogan. I’d idolized them when I was younger, and now they’d be watching me in the main event. And that’s something I accomplished with the help of these people.”

“In our locker room, there are two types of people,” explained Lynch. “Those who are bytching about how I got to the top and those who are trying to copy what I did. But you have to go outside of that. You have to be completely different. Step up. Make a name for yourself. Do it without doing it the way I did. I see what everyone else is doing, and then I try to do the opposite. Be original. Create the interest I have, put together the matches I’ve had. No one can do what I do. If you can, please step up to the plate.

I would say that it's more than 20% when it comes to wrestling, but I think she's trying to cover up for the fact that she's the most athletic looking un-athletic wrestler on the roster. As for the last paragraph about originality that was some of the biggest piece of bullshyt she's ever said, her whole character is just a mashup of Stone Cold & Conor McGregor. Also her whole "create the interest" line was her going on Twitter and bytching about her lack of opportunities, something that Sasha got flack for earlier this year

Rebecca Knox is a submission wrestler...she dont have to do any of that moveset she does..her transitions on mat wrestling are great. She was on fire before Charlotte ever got trained.

But she fycking stumbled into “The Man” shyt. It’s not original, it’s a spin off that Ric Flair confrontation she had. I’m a fan, I hope she doesn’t really feel like she is actually some amazing creative genius because for a long time she was a good wrestler with a stale Steampunk gimmick. The fans knew it and actually cheered her “Heel turn” because she was boring AF as a face.
