Should pay them less, too. Can't expect to get paid Silicon Valley money and you working remotely from Texas.

Smart
I can see it happening in other expensive places

hell i'm in Toronto right now if I could work from home permanently or just have to come in once or twice a month or even once a week. I’d fully move to Niagara or London Ontario and pay peanuts for a big ol property

I can see it happening. I don't see a crazy exodus out of the cities though. Remember too companies are going to pay less for remote workers. I guess everyone wins? shyt I'd move to Ottawa or Montreal if this thing took off.

Let’s be real when things get better it’s back to the same old thing
I think things will change but its going to take a couple years.

theres a few companies starting the movement to WFH indefinitely, but I bet the rest of the workforce will watch how it plays out.

it had never made sense to be in office for all of that time. Most corporate offices can downsize workspace and works can soend 1 or 2 days in office a week and not have a change. Real estate would shift

The thing is, people used to try to do this with federal jobs in CA. They would work in CA for maybe 6 months to a year as a federal employee. Then they would transfer to a lower cost of living state (Arizona, Nevada, or Texas) and they would keep their same salary. Well the feds caught on and put a stop to that. So if you move, your salary changes too.

I am sure these tech companies are looking into that. Like yeah, stay home...move to another state, but don't think you are going to take your San Francisco/Silicon Valley salary to Dallas or Memphis. It might work in situations where it's just a couple people....but if you have a BUNCH of people doing it, they are going to make a change.

Total scumbags. Its like they dont want anyone getting ahead in life, outside of executives. :pacspit:

It's kind of not they're fault though. Not they're fault they make alot of money and landlords want to take advantage.

Regardless, these landlords need to buckle down and stop making the exceptional wages, as the norm.
