Beans was that dude. He just couldn’t stay out the streets. He didn’t have one weakness as a MC

Beans has never impressed me even once as an emcee I listened to his shyt with a blank stare lol

......I think he's just a fan fav which is cool

Fabulous is a flat out better emcee and I don't even like Fab or rate him that highly

I’m gonna take Beans on this one…

Beans was the East Coast Scarface.

You could feel the pain in his music plus he’s the reason why Kanye got into the camp.

Out of respect for Red, I’m not picking DIAD since he was in a dark place during that album. Dude was on acid and it lead to him being a underrated producer

:whoa:

Fab ain't better than Beans.

Fab and Jada can’t make a cohesive album if they tried…

At least Beans made a couple good albums. He only has one stinker (The Solution).

Punchline wise

Jada>Beans> Fab

Beans had a funny line about having dirty birds like McNabb on The Reason.

Get Down sounded like a Bink track to me. Just was biting Bink a bit

I think Fab is weak, lol.

Beans has mad verses that Fab just never had the talent to pen. When Scarface wants to do an album with you, and calls you "an incredible writer", I think you're good to go. He loved Beans. Fab just never had that type of skill-set. He's a mixtape-level worker. And wild generic. Beans was a special talent. He just didn't give himself the opportunity to do enough with it. Too much bullsh*t going on outside of the music.

I agree.

But Kiss is actually one of the revered legends though. That dude has a ridiculous amount of classic work. He just doesn't have direction with his albums. It's the one thing he's trash at, lol.

If you were born in '85, then you were 6-7 years old when Reggie dropped WTA.

That album changed the landscape for Def Jam, and Hip Hop. The Source was credible in 1992. We know what happened to the magazine after '94. It wasn't seen the same way anymore, and most heads stopped taking it seriously after classics started getting mad low mics. Labels were literally buying mics in the mid-90's to help their albums sell. So we can't speak on classics and then refer to The Source anymore. We all know what was going on with it back then.

They would get mad at artists who didn't show up for interviews and then drop their albums a mic or two on some personal sh*t. Later on, writers admitted that this was going on because certain MC's snubbed them. So nah, The Source was done being respected for their reviews mad quick into their run. They got too gassed and f*cked it up.
I understand Reggie done a lot for Def Jam early on. But catalog wise I got Beans. The Source magazine imo was credible up until Benzino vs Eminem.

Beanie Sigel might be the most overrated rapper of the 90s :francis:

Redman? :mjlol: Sauce Money >>>>>>>>>>>>> BS

Beans outshined Nas on Journey Though The Life song off Forever, Flamed Jay on Streets Is Talking, Had one of the best verses on Reservoir Dogs next to Sauce Money…

Let’s not act like Beans didn’t get down with the best of em.

Sauce Money should have swallowed his pride and stayed with Jay. Beans took his spot and folks forgot about Sauce.

Imagine Sauce on those Just Blaze, Kanye, Boola, Bink, and Ski beats.

Jay had him in position.

Why isn’t Middle Finger on Apple Music??

Album wasn’t bad. It had a Bad Boy sound already imprinted.

The Source shouldn't have anything to do with seeing that Reggie was just mad better than Beanie Sigel, bro. HAHA! I don’t even know why we're talking about magazines.

It's just two different levels of talent and catalogues. One is a GOAT, one isn't.

Beans just kept it street like Sheek…

He wasn’t trying to go for different audiences.

No matter what beat Beans rapped on, he always murdered it whether it was Rick Rock, Just Blaze, or even Don Cheegro

Beans had a lot of heartfelt and personal tracks too though.

Sheek didn't really have that in the stash.

Sheek had a bunch of casual murder bars…

Comical at that. You don’t know if you wanna laugh or shoot.

Beans and DMX were both versatile and had subject matter that folks can relate to.
