Be honest, Vince/WWE have stayed away from Hogan WAY longer than you thought they would

He will be back to a mega pop at some point

Him and Flair are really the last 2 left of who were top tier in the 80s golden era.

Macho and Warrior, Piper are gone

You've heard of the guy, know hes a big deal in rasslin history but never saw a match of his or witnessed his era. Thats how bruno was for many folks of our era and thats how kids growing up now (without the network) will see hogan

What's funny is that Savage won in the long run because everybody still knows who he was, even the young bucks. They basically have Mach the "Hulk spot" as the 80's GOAT so the young buls are gonna just go with it.

They've been slowly working him back into programming via clips and mentions for the last few years so they "stayed away" for a year or two at most.

How do you have a Network built upon your archival footage and not include the guy who was literally the singular face of the company for almost a decade in the most nostalgic era for an entire generation? The idea that they tried to replace him with Warrior in Hulkamania Era history has always been hilarious, especially considering the wild shyt Warrior said in public.

I thought he would be dead by now to be honest

I figured he would die and they would immortalize him again but it would be worse than before

I'm sure a bunch of y'all watched Hogan from the 80's and got rose tinted glasses but man was a horrible wrestler and stole what was rightfully Macho Man's

Man was helped by the fact a lot of his contemporaries are dead, were in WCW longer, or druggies

nikka Hulkkk is the goat.

Racist trash bag, but GOAT nonetheless.

Horrible Wrestler? wrestling is fukking fake. Johnny Gargano, AJ Styles etc. are not a better Wrestlers than Hulkkk fukking Hogan.

Hulkkk Hogan is wrestling.

The phrase a good “worker” comes from “working” the crowd. Nobody except maybe Austin, Rocky, Flair and Bruno could “work” the crowd like The Klanster.

Are they more athletic? Absolutely...
More moves? Yup
Cooler spots? Offourse

But not in the same stratosphere as Hogan.

People forget Hogan and Braun Strowman are the same height.

Hulkkk was fast and smooth as hell for his size.

Greatest wrestler ever man...

:mjcry: I don’t want to let go.

Warrior is a prime example of my previous point. He's said some terrible shyt as well, but it's slid under the radar for the most part. Every now and then a few websites will try and bring it to light, but nothing really comes of it.

So the WWE does nothing. They're never gonna blacklist a guy/girl because it's the ethical thing to do. It's always going to be about press.

If the wrong, determined group gets ahold of Warrior's history, he'll be gone too.

it’s crazy where Hogan is vs Ric Flair pop culture wise now. Same generation yet Ric is loved by Millenials who probably couldn’t name 5 of his opponents.

Definitely surprised they’ve been as subtle in using him as they have. Kinda thought they were letting it leave the news cycle then they’d ease him right back

Flair's pop culture cache now is definitely weird. He was absolutely not as known as Hogan outside of the wrestling bubble their entire runs, but I think it comes from Southern rappers and football players in their mid 20s/early 30s who were wrestling fans in the 90s taking cues from him and then it spreading from there.
