Mad Men is the deepest show on tv. It's not for people who just want "fukkery" or cheap thrills, violence or sex.
exactly.

bb and got are for the simple minded f*cks who need everything spoonfed to them.

mm is easily the best character developed show ever on tv, and that by itself easily puts it in the holy trinity

Made it through season 4 and am considering abandoning ship. This shyt is literally dudes sleeping with every woman, Betty being randomly bytchy, sally being weird, Peggy being smug yet unconfident, and Joan being an unfulfilled ho. Like what is this show working toward?

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven

It’s a drama. That’s where a lot of people go wrong. They hear the stories of Draper and think it’s gonna be funny or exciting like a thriller.

It’s a period piece about the business and home life in the 50s-70s. That’s about all it’s working toward. Nothing is really figured out. You’re watching this office go through a major time in the USA and the level of detail is unmatched.

Actually, The Walking Dead is the most overrated show on AMC.
A post that legitimately aged well. :smugdraper:

yup. Greates show of all time and the dialogue is second to none. Huh ?

Breh, Littlefinger shyts on Mad Men all by himself
And a post that didn't age so well. :picard:

The writing on Mad Men was excellent. We had three dimensional characters who slowly but surely went through meaningful change throughout the course of the series. A character study in the same realm as The Sopranos. This bump just reminded me that I need to do a rewatch soon.

That’s literally the best thing about it - being a period piece and the attention to the detail of that era - I see why it created a mid century modern home decor craze when it dropped. Otherwise the situations just feel like they’re going in circles, I don’t see how this has 4 more seasons of this (like I said, I’m just finishing season 4)

Just seemed like 1st world white people problems to me. :yeshrug:
Most of the characters are a$$holes but it’s like a glimpse into a past we’ll never know, that was peak white man time for sure. It’s pretty fascinating imo but I can understand people finding it boring, it took me multiple attempts at watching until I really fell in love with it. The characters feel like real people, great writing. Plus red head big titty girl is worth the price of admission :mjlit:
