You said this:
In the other quotes above, you said an ecosystem is hard to push without a piece of hardware e.g. Xbox is MIcrosoft's Iphone as you put it.
If they're failing to get people to buy their "iPhone", you honestly believe people are going to somehow come in droves onto the ecosystem via "gamepass" on a damn Firestick where you have to stream the game? Lol come on dog.
You do realize you guys have been fanning the flames of a Gamepass takeover since damn near 10 years ago? WHEN is this takeover going to happen?
You acknowledged in the past that hardware is the main driver to get someone in an ecosystem.
If all the things they're CURRENTLY doing isn't driving people to their ecosystem e.g. "buying an Xbox", what makes you think they're going to buy an Xbox NOW if almost everything that made people get an Xbox is being pushed away e.g. exclusives now coming to other platforms, officially telling people an Xbox isn't needed, "Every screen is an Xbox", and essentially pivoting to being more of a game publisher on every platform?
You contradicted it because you're now cheerleading their "Xbox isn't needed" anymore mantra when you know darn well people get onto these ecosystems through the hardware primarily. We're talking about video games, not Netflix or Amazon prime. That's the disconnect I always see you guys have, you try to correlate things that might have worked/is working for streaming services like TV and movies and think it's an automatic W for games.
A marathon is still a race, dumbass. This isn't a race it's a Marathon and MS is moving accordingly.
A marathon is still a race, dumbass.
ohhhh you got got me, I typed race instead of Sprint.A marathon is still a race, dumbass.
So, ultimately you want MS to be SEGA which is fineImagine doing all that just to sell the system at a loss and or break even/slight profit
Xbox is doing exactly what it needs to do right now. They need to focus on establishing a library of games and access to games so when people decide to finally get an Xbox they can be like "oh all this is here too" and decide to stay.
If it was up to y'all, you would have them made everything exclusive, kill day and date on gamepass, focus on getting 3rd party exclusives and try to force people over to Xbox for exclusive games.
All that to sell more hardware at a loss and for people to own a Xbox for there exclusive but buy and play all their games on PlayStation like they been have.
Yall have no business sense what so ever.
Too bad your Stanley colored glasses clouding your vision.
An Xbox console is a core pillar to the Xbox ecosystem it's not the whole sum of it, aka it isn't going anywhere. If it does, I can promise so does the Xbox branding all together.
So they have the established hardware to push an successful ecosystem ( which it currently is) also the future of a dedicated console sitting in front of a TVs is on its way out the switch should have shown y'all that.
If Xbox is the iPhone then iTunes is Gamepass and guess what? You can't install iTunes on anything put apple products and pcs.
Meanwhile gamepass goal is to be playable on any and everything that is allowed to run it. Therefore people joining the Xbox ecosystem is already infinity times easier. On top of gamepass play anywhere games and overall access your Xbox library on devices that aren't a dedicated console are abundant.
Can't say the same for PlayStation or Nintendo.
Take over? That's y'all, we've been saying it's an amazing service and sony will copy it and they have slowly been doing just that while telling y'all they aren't. Literally the only thing left is for day and date single player games to be available at some tier.
Yes, but for some reason you all think if your not #1 your not successful
Y'all need to go back. And look at sales history, PlayStation has been the dominant console seller since it's release. Literally nothing has come close beside the PS3/360 era in which they shot themselves in the foot out the gate. If it was up to y'all, based on how bad you feel like systems are selling for Xbox, you'd think the N64/game and Wii u are absolutely trash and Nintendo should go 3rd party.
But fast forward to 2024 and Nintendo is right there with Sony when it comes to hardware sales while selling almost decade old hardware
As far as ecosystems go, the PS4 and Xbox one ecosystem is the one where people locked into a system and have very little reason to cross over unless incentivized. This isn't a race it's a Marathon and MS is moving accordingly.
You don't need a console to be part of the ecosystem, I do need a console to be part of the PlayStation ecosystem currently though.
Stuck in the old ways
Why not do it all
Y'all need to take your frustration out on Microsoft, this ain't Sony's fault for being competitive. Realistically, Microsoft will probably will stay for one more generation, but they'll experience the same shyt they did to Sega when Sega was down bad. I could see Google spinning the block again and stick around because they didn't want to find themselves in a permanent spot in fourth place, with Microsoft ready to throw in the towel, Google will possibly reinsert themselves in the mix and will take Microsoft's place. What good comes from a Sony monopoly??

And consoles won't see themselves being sold as the same price as a custom built mid range PC.
Has this ever happened before? Where only ONE console remains in the market? Even the NES had the Master System to go against.
