Agreed. Tender is the Night is way better and gets nowhere near the accolades.
This thread made me watch it again. Movie is average as fukk. The jay-z, Beyoncé and Kanye music different fit. Leo wasn’t solid but not up to his usual standards. Tobey and Joel Edgerton put the best work in here to be honest.

Great movie.
I loved the book, and I liked the movie's take on the story. I loved the visuals, especially of the "valley of ashes."
Leo did a great job playing an obsessed simp with an inferiority complex.
I'm going to be honest though: Carey Mulligan did a nice job (I'm a fan of her work in general), but she is nowhere near pretty enough to play Daisy.
They needed a classically beautiful knockout, not someone who looks kind of cute on a good day
