Making excuses for these racists. :snoop: Its obvious not expensive to make if they just knocked 97 percent off the manufacturing price :russ: Its all greed.

knocking 97% off the cost because they put in 0% R&D costs . . these days its about 10 years, $1billion+ on a 20 year patent before a new drug hits the market - so 10 years to recoup costs. . . I sympathise with the Indians though, Bayer should reduce costs in certain territories like india to decrease this sort of thing happening. At the same time, these generics are bad for new drug development (as a few people have described earlier in this thread). I work in clinical research, 2010-2012 were complete shyt with the recession hitting the contract research industry hard - the big pharmacuetical companies cut back on R&D budgets big time which wasnt a good look :to:

So even though they may be making huge profits, the first thing that gets cut is the R&D budget = no new development drugs

Nationalize the drug, subsidized the cost of the R&D, and give it to people for free or at an extremely low cost.

Just this drug or all drugs? I understand govt helps create a lot of drugs but the drugs that typically come out of government incubation are generally low priced to begin with and don't cure very serious or acute diseases. Thats where the private sector comes in and does the job and they've been rewarded for it. Are we to just going to say its OK to be mediocre at drug creation or should we as one of the leaders in the world try to excel and combat unique diseases that are niches?

It worked with cocaine

Anyone dapping this up must be a 1%er. This is the exact attitude that many of them have that life is a privilege that comes with money and the rest should just be lucky to get what little out of their meager existence that they can. Elysium anyone. Same people that were going to let my gf's grandmother die because her professor father and senior exec mother could not afford the kind of treatment they recommended, so they said she'd die in less than a year. Thankfully they were able to take her to India and they worked with her and allowed her to live 12 more years at a fraction of the cost these white doctors were trying to kill her with. I'm not into the statement of CAC, but it certainly applied in that case. Can't believe anyone could dap this attitude.

My dude, as soon as I saw that picture I was like :smugcac: :dead:

But this is Bayer, formerly one fifth of the chemical combine IG Farben; a company that was deemed so evil by the Allies that it was split up.

The assumption that bayer wouldnt have made this life saving drug, when they did without the profit motive? :what:

the government could do it just as easy breh. they have the same access to all the top minds and talent in the world.
