Rock aside, Dave Bautista is a GOOD actor. He has a real presence on the screen...him yelling at Baron Harkonnen in Dune was fukkin great, you could tell he was disgusted at them giving up Arrakis before he understood it was a trap.

This is better than every scene by a former wrestler other than Roddy Piper, ever.

Almost forgot about this. I definitely stand by my statement. He definitely wants to be an actor. He's done comedy, action, horror, and his dramatic acting is improving each time. I won't be shocked if he's nominated for something in the next 10 years at this rate.

Rock has the ability but.......he's wayyyyyy too brand conscious to be a great actor.

You have to transform yourself and get lost in the role. He doesn't challenge himself and always plays a variation of himself. I'd like to see him be a bad guy....a legit evil antagonist.

Feel like he is uncomfortable playing a role where he has to tap into deep emotions because of his childhood. Look in his eyes and there's a sadness there, especially when he's not performing.

Rock is uncomfortable playing a role that requires emotional depth. It all has to do with his upbringing.

He also cares about his brand more than anything else.
Can yall go into more detail on this? :jbhmm:

Him and his dad didn't have the best relationship. Pops got around and wasn't always the most responsible.

Watch Young Rock tv show. Think it lasted 3 seasons. You can tell he loves his pops but every other episode was him low key shytting on his pops. Not really bad but you can tell there's A LOT of trauma there.

His grandma (mom's mom) seemed shady as fukk too getting hemmed up by the FBI. Meanwhile his depiction of his mom was basically perfect. Doesn't mean she was but relatively speaking it was clear how he felt/feels about them.

Never noticed his eyes until my wife brought it up. When he's just talking about random shyt on IG or something.

While I love Tom Hardy as Bane, as much as Bautista wanted it, I think he would've smashed the role.

Rock has literally no one but himself to blame. He may never have been nominated for an Oscar, but he could've been the next Arnold. Rock literally has NO solo classics. And arguably no ensemble classics. Fast 5, perhaps.
