Bautista has depth
the rock acts like a wrestler would act. corny and over the top

i feel like Bautista actually cares about the roles he gets or is trying to get. And, he's had to work hard for the opportunity. The Rock had more of an open opportunity to change lanes and get into films and was casted based off of what he already was doing.
High damn key
Rock aside, Dave Bautista is a GOOD actor. He has a real presence on the screen...him yelling at Baron Harkonnen in Dune was fukkin great, you could tell he was disgusted at them giving up Arrakis before he understood it was a trap.
This is better than every scene by a former wrestler other than Roddy Piper, ever.
Rock has the ability but.......he's wayyyyyy too brand conscious to be a great actor.
You have to transform yourself and get lost in the role. He doesn't challenge himself and always plays a variation of himself. I'd like to see him be a bad guy....a legit evil antagonist.
Feel like he is uncomfortable playing a role where he has to tap into deep emotions because of his childhood. Look in his eyes and there's a sadness there, especially when he's not performing.
Can yall go into more detail on this?Rock is uncomfortable playing a role that requires emotional depth. It all has to do with his upbringing.
He also cares about his brand more than anything else.
Him and his dad didn't have the best relationship. Pops got around and wasn't always the most responsible. Can yall go into more detail on this?
A main eventer tooIt's not lowkey. He is.
I saw a picture of him as a wrestler and was like WTF. I dead ass forgot he was one
DC Dave is a much better actor than Dwayne, but he ain't touching the rocks success.I actually had thoughts of making this thread and asking if Bautista or any other wrestler was actually the more successful wrestler turned actor
While I love Tom Hardy as Bane, as much as Bautista wanted it, I think he would've smashed the role.Almost forgot about this. I definitely stand by my statement. He definitely wants to be an actor. He's done comedy, action, horror, and his dramatic acting is improving each time. I won't be shocked if he's nominated for something in the next 10 years at this rate.
