definitely no question, the best movie rock showed his acting skills was Gridiron Gang right?

Everyone knows Bautista got range and is a better actor than The Rock. Nothing low key about it

But don't you see something wrong with this?
No growth, perhaps even decline in range over time

And I'm a rock fan :hubie:
It's definitely something wrong. His lack of range (or the fact he doesn't exercise it much) has caused him to typecast himself while simultaneously becoming a bigger brand than the media he occupies. Every movie now is "The Rock as..A meteorologist!" Or "The Rock as some sort of law enforcement or military figure...again!"

"The Rock as a Disney Character!"

"Coach Rock!"

It was a joke!
We all have to work at the end of the day :manny:

He's just kinda ethnically ambiguous enough and knows how to present himself, want good movies, find them yourself

i feel like Bautista actually cares about the roles he gets or is trying to get. And, he's had to work hard for the opportunity. The Rock had more of an open opportunity to change lanes and get into films and was casted based off of what he already was doing.

Rock has the ability but.......he's wayyyyyy too brand conscious to be a great actor.

You have to transform yourself and get lost in the role. He doesn't challenge himself and always plays a variation of himself. I'd like to see him be a bad guy....a legit evil antagonist.

Feel like he is uncomfortable playing a role where he has to tap into deep emotions because of his childhood. Look in his eyes and there's a sadness there, especially when he's not performing.
