Quillin sounded like dazed but Twitter thinks he shoulda been allowed to get flatlined. I really get why ya'll don't like "casual" fans in here. Ugh
It's boxing breh...unfortunately there have been situations where the Ref stops the fight too soon so most are on "let the fists be the final judge" mentality...for better or for worse

An standing 8 Wouldnt of helped him
He was out on his feet
He shoulda took a knee Mayb but I don't think he knew where the hell he was
Good stoppage
Another shot woulda REALLY did some damage
He shoulda held when he had the chance

I'm not getting the Qullins eyes were in space N all that

The ref looked at him for less then a second N waved it off...Quillin bounced on his toes N his eyes were looking right at Jacobs...what more are you posed to do?? :beli:

I think the ref was going to call the fight after the big shot landed that's why he stepped in... The ref turned around N was surprised to see Quillin Alive let alone standing...then said fukk it N waved the fight anyways :patrice:
breh didn't look like he was about to defend himself there choc :usure:

Watched quillin-jacobs...there should have been a standing 8 called unless it's not a rule in NY...but then as Krack mentioned Quillin showed signs of bushes syndrome..he did take a hard shot to the temple...its all subjective I guess..let it go and think he has a francisco vargas comeback in him or does Danny go on and flatten the nikka completely
Pat when that thunderclap punch ended quillin may have been standing but his equilibrium was bushed

I never seen a stoppage like that for somebody that didn't even get knocked down.. he stayed on his feet.. ref should allowee him a chance to try and recover.. and if he took anymore shots THEN step in and stop the fight
This!

its a gift n curse. u never know with crazy old judges either. boxing is goat for fukkery:wow:
I learned my lesson when CJ Ross scored the Mayweather-Canelo bout a draw. That shyt was so ridiculous, even Canelo was surprised by (and didn't agree with) that bullshyt-ass judgment.

okay ill agree with people saying it should have been a standing 8 count.:francis::ehh:

don't worry their will be a rematch. then again danny might not rematch him. cant see him passing up lee saunders winner next.:yeshrug:

also is ggg signed to an exclusive hbo contract? if this new hbo president works with all promoters and advisers maybe ggg/danny can happen sooner than later.
Danny said he'd definitely give Peter a rematch.

Using post fight interviews as a reason for stopping a fight is not only silly but outright dumb. Nobody can see the future and it should be an in the moment judgement. If it were a bad stoppage when it happened then it was a bad stoppage even if quillin passes out after the fight. You have to give the fighter a chance and sometimes it backfires but you have to do it, it's the nature of the sport especially in a championship fight. That 20/20 hindsight shyt is nothing but bullshyt and nobody should be using it in here.

Although he was seein' Tweety Birds, he still attempted to get in a defensive fight posture. On top of that, the fighters were nowhere near each other when the ref stopped the shyt. WTF is that?

After watchin it again I still think it was a bad stoppage. It was way too early in the fight and the ref shoulda at least let Danny jump back on him. We've seen plenty of boxers recover from shots where we thought the fight was over
