what you described is what the Harmony does. you have set activities and push one button and it remembers the state your devices were in and turns on and off everything to the appropriate setup.

i guess i missed the part where the Xbox One came with an IR remote that sent IR commands to all my devices. perhaps it comes with several IR blasters or something. all i'm saying is what that does my Harmony Touch and my Harmony One both already do. to me it makes no difference if i have to say the command or just press a start activity button.
The kinect senser has a ir blaster array. I have a harmony also I know what it does.

No no no nikka. It's one box CONTROLLING everything else. Obviously you will need other boxes, but you no longer have to manipulate them individually.

Look at all the equipment you have. People don't have multiple screens and computers and shyt all in their living room.:pachaha:

This makes it so the average consumer can have all of the functionality you have in a much easier and streamlined package. You are nowhere near what the average entertainment consumer is, it's silly to try to compare your needs to those of everyone else.
i'm a cable tech and "the average consumer" doesn't know what an HDMI port is and if their tv accidentally gets set to channel 4 and their cable box is on HDMI 1 they can't get it back to HDMI 1 without calling the cable company.

"the average consumer" is pretty ignorant in technology. i doubt many of them would even be able to set up an Xbox One to do what you say. they people that could do that are closer to me than "the average consumer" and tech geeks like myself have dual monitors or dual tvs and harmony remotes or other types of universal ones and already have setups that work efficiently and when we plug up the Xbox One its just a game console to us.

here's some of the latest from the rumor train

fukk fukk fukk fukk

FINALLY GREEN LIGHT.

Battlefield 4 on PS4 is 900p on PS4. So speculation could be rampant, but this is where they are at now.

Also COD Ghosts has framerate issues to be ironed out by launch. Both machines.

One more bit of information, but working on getting another source for that will be nigh impossible, I have informed Kagari about it.

Basically xbox one is trying to turn your living room into an iphone. Time will tell if they succeed
