That's the craziest thing. Iron-Man was definitely low on the super hero totem pole and Captain America was fukking AQUAMAN tier. A complete punchline. Yet they got DC shook
I mean none of the current main avengers are on the same level as Supes or Bats. Marvel literally just regained the rights to the only hero on their level (Spider-Man) now they got him for at least 6 more movies

Dude, the Batman movies did well, look how many Batman movies they've made. They don't give that many opportunities to a fledging property. And no, Superman is not and never has been as popular as Batman, he is as well known but never as well liked or popular. Look at the book sales, cartoon figures, movie figures, etc since their inception. Batman almost always outdraws him unless there are special circumstances.
Superman was the clear #1 in all mediums until the Batman resurgence in the 80's-90's.

Bats is more popular right now but Supes brand is still more universal. And when/if the time comes where he finally gets his "Dark Knight" moment... he will outgross everyone.

I've always wondered why people care so much about this tho. Like, how come no one does this with shows, animated shows/movies, toys, video games, etc.

there's nothing suicide squad can do to redeem the larger DC franchise. at best if it's a hit maybe it can be it's own thing and contribute to a separate batman-only universe.

but as far as the main justice league franchise goes, they're completely fukked. if they are indeed moving forward with snyder and JL1 then that may be the final nail in the coffin.

one......they should have did at least 2 batman movies.
(joker/killer croc/solomon grundy/riddler etc.)
another superman movie where darkseid touched
down forcing other Godlikes to come forward to save earth.
bvs was a money grab......period.

Executives wanted their own avengers but
wanted to keep the nolan-esqe edge.
no development,no glue.
heres batman/superman/wonderwoman,
set up our avengers, heres a few hundred million
and just add water.

again.....how do you fukk up a damn movie
with batman,superman and fukkin wonderwoman!
:damn:

I disagree, breh.

" in the '60s, there would be the three Bs: Bond, Batman and The Beatles."

Batman has been a more popular property than Superman for the bulk of their existence. Almost the entirety if you are looking strictly at comic sales.

i am not a comic historian but i bet you superman outsold batman until the 80's.

he got his own cartoon before batman, his own series before batman, and unless you count batman '66 he got his own big budget big screen movie before batman did. the show was called SUPERFRIENDS. batman was off on the side.

and honestly i don't think it matters that batman outsells superman in the comics because so few people even read comics. tell me who has more songs written about them. tell me who's referenced more on a day to day basis. tell me who athletes compare themselves to when they do something above and beyond.

who got their own official smiley :sas2:

:sas1: I can tell. :lolbron:

He didn't. It was so bad for Superman actually that they had to kill him off in the early 90s to get his sales back up. Death of Superman... you may remember it...

:mjlol: So you bet Superman had his own show first if we DON'T count Batman's show that came before it??? :mjlol:

Batman was a main character in Superfriends, wtf :mindblown::pachaha:

The comics are the source material. Whoever was more popular there translate to having a larger audience base before going mainstream. However it doesn't matter as Batman was far larger in the mainstream than Superman was anyway.

Bruh, you seem to be discrediting everything that Batman paved the way for first. Nobody here, including me, is saying Superman ISN'T known and ISN'T popular, but you have absolutely no substantial evidence to prove Sueprman is more popular than Batman meanwhile EVERY single piece of data we have says Batman is more popular.

You got this one wrong bruh. I ain't even trying to fry you for it (well not TOO much :pachaha:) but your assessment here is completely incorrect.
