The difference between IM3 and TDKR is 130. What kind of round up makes it 200?
I thought it was a billion v 1.2, no?

I don't even know what's being argued about anymore in these threads.
I've yet to see a convincing argument that BvS should have easily done a billion
It would not have been an unstoppable juggernaut you're just speculating . There's absolutely nothing that suggests that BvS should have made as much as Civil War.
I'm sayinLOLWUT?
It's Batman...vs Superman.
BvS is no more ambitious than anything Marvel has put out . You can laugh at the tone of Guardians of the Galaxy, but the decision to throw those characters on the screen with that budget, in that setting, was way more ambitious and riskier from a studio perspective than deciding to throw Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Lex Luthor, Doomsday, The Flash, and Aquaman on a screen.
Everything you brought up; accountability and whatnot wasn't explored in any real substantive way, no truly unique or clever angle was explored, they just presented the common talking points of the subject and scowled at each other instead of having a thought out conversation without a clear winner. I mean, did Wonder Woman even say one word to Superman in the entire movie?
Drowning a film in dour music and a blue and grey color filter simply presents the illusion of taking a subject serious, but it's all undermined by CG monsters, stupid plot solutions, fake deaths, and hollow character moments. A 3 hour release would have been slightly more ambitious and certainly a bigger risk, considering it would have meant fewer screens, but ultimately the film was just an on the surface exploration of it's themes, no matter how many times people say it's deeper than the average comic book movie. No, it's just as silly, just as reliant on action, just as reliant on one note mustache twirling villains, but it's also presented as if it's better than that, which is why it gets laughed at instead of tolerated.
I want to make a comment about that point specifically. I would agree that a film that tackles the power and responsibility dilemma could be ambitious, but my stance is that BvS did not do that. And they had a perfect opportunity to do so.
The most disappointing scene in the film for me wasn't Martha, or Batman murking criminals, or CG Doomsday, or any of Luthors scenes, it was the court scene. When I first saw the trailer, I thought to myself, despite all of the stupid shyt being thrown at the screen, THIS looks like it could be interesting.
Superman having to address a court, speak to the American people, hell speak to the entire world, and take an actual stance on who he is and what his place is in this world.
I was looking forward to that more than anything else in the film. What would be his response? How would he answer to "This is how democracy works. We talk to each other." I thought this could have been a great 5-7 minute scene of truth and character building and thought provoking debate. But no, the court room exploded before Superman could even say a word. So apparently democracy is talking to each other, but this movie is about avoiding that talk, and instead having shyt blow up.
So we don't get to hear him defend himself, we don't get to hear him apologize, or not apologize, or express a counterpoint to the popular narrative, or talk about growing up on a farm, or talk about his ethos, or talk about being a man vs being a God, or talk about how the love of his family or the love of his life factors into who he is, or literally.....anything. He doesn't share a single piece of himself. All we get is him brooding after the explosion. What a wasted opportunity for the film to deliver an interesting and poignant character moment for Superman and one that would explicitly tackle the theme of being a superhero and if people deserve to be saved. That moment should have been used to give Superman, a character so many say is boring and emotionless, a voice that would connect to the audience, in world and out, but instead they used that moment for a piss joke and an explosion.
This is why I say it was an on the surface look at it's themes. The potentially compelling aspects of the film was just undermined at damn near every point, and all that truly was left to like was Batman's action scenes. At least for me.
Y'all keep saying this with nothing to back it up. Justice League will be at best the 3rd grossing cbm next year despite having more popular characters. Having more popular characters is overratedLOLWUT?
It's Batman...vs Superman.
I don't see how BvS, TDK, and MoS are hitting the exact same demo as GotG, IM3, or Ant-man.of course everyone here is speculating. what's wrong with speculating?
people here were speculating that star wars episode 7 would break all records before the first teaser trailer even hit. no "evidence" was needed, it was just common sense.
at least with transformers you can argue that maybe they hit different demographics. you got the kids, the teens, the nerds, the mouth breathers... god knows how those movies make the money they do. obviously there's a lot of people out there that like watching dumb movies about robots blowing shyt up. but when it comes to marvel movies there is not a single demographic they hit that batman/superman doesn't. they're all superhero movies. warners should be able to bank on all those people and more because they have the more universal icons.
Who's defending BvS in here?nikkas still arguing trying to defend this shyt I tell you boy
Y'all keep saying this with nothing to back it up.
So how many MCU movies out grossing Batman for you to admit that the popularity of the characters doesn't matter?LOLWUT?
What part of "Batman vs Superman" do you not understand?
No one said any of that.
You DC stans have to keep deflecting and attacking the strawman because you know this film is trash.
