Burton was a prince fan all the way, he knew MJ was going to get bigger press than the movie

theres a longer version of "scandalous" on the single where bassinger is making sex noises, the re-occuring rumour states that at the end of the day it involved an empty jar of honey and a sticky mixing board that needed cleaning .

so i know the hype was big for the dark knight lord knows i lived through it, it was everywhere everyone was talking about it, people were recreating scenes in the street, but what was it like in 1989?

HUGE....like mega HUGE

I remember the line in the beginning....: criminal..."who are you??"....and when Michael Keaton grabbed him and said "I'm Batman"....the theater went fukin WILD.

That line was everywhere for a few years in comedy skits, late night shows etc....plus the Joker smile was really popular, everyone tried to imitate it...plus the black batman logo was everywhere...everyone had the T shirt and/or poster

(that reminds me...we need a Jack Nicholson Joker smiley :usure:)

anyway

Then the toys, the cartoons etc...it created a resurgence of Batman that probably hadn't been seen since the 60s...I still have some of that stuff at my parents crib in the garage somewhere...

Now that night in the theater...as a youngin...the lines to get in were HUGE...it was the first time I had seen a movie threater crowded like that...I couldn't even sit next to most of my friends...and it's probably the only time I can recall people standing up the whole time in the back of the theater...and people sitting in the isles where you could barely get out...

Breh as a 3 year old I knew it was huge. All the batman toys in my basement prove that. Along with the video games, the t shirts I had, the damn batman cereal my mom bought me and I said was nasty but she made me eat it anyway because that's how it is.
