As a US senator and the first female vice president that lady will be fine. Just going off the top of my head most people after losing the presidential election either return to doing what they were doing if they were already holding a public office or went to the private sector. Only person I’ve seen insist on having a “political career” after losing is trump and I don’t think that will set a very good precedent. Especially considering everyone swore up and down he was done after January 6th.

Biden dropped out in July. The DNC national convention to nominate their candidate was in August. Not sure what type of primary could have been conducted for a duly elected democratic candidate in all fifty states in a month. Had the DNC stepped over her to do so the optics would have been horrible since the VP (first one of color as well as female) is always the heir presumptive to replace a sitting president. Plus I don’t think the DNC wanted anymore smoke considering how they did Bernie. It was damned if they do damned if they don’t from literally day zero.

The should have would have could haves and finger pointing is getting old as well as getting out of hand. Rogan wouldn’t have changed anyone’s minds since we all know his target audience.
