On the ringer’s recap podcast Bill Hader prettt much had the exact same question after they finished writing season 3 in 2020. We’ll just have to wait and see.

I swear HBO Max subs said Sally said Oh you do when Barry said he loved her but then on rewatch I saw the subs had mixed it up
The crisobal scene is more or less played by the actions
The actual dialog just adds flavor to the scene
Finale was good I thought Barry was gonna do one more kill and then he would have to start over again

Lol Everybody Loves NoHo Hank sitcom.
This one is tough, because there still isn't any real evidence to implicate Barry. When his friend confronted him in the desert, he had just finished burying a body, but the guy never even checked to see before he left. And Barry never said anything.
In the ending scene, Gene was trying to get him to say something incriminating, but he never said anything. He took the gun and told him to leave, and went into the house, but he could just say he was trying to protect Gene from getting in trouble. There still isn't any evidence besides Fuchs telling Gene, who told Janice's father. But Fuchs is obviously not credible. So I'm very curious to see how they play this, just wish we didn't have to wait so long.

Barry walked in with a gun pointed at Bunny Colvin's head.
IIRC, Barry told Gene that he killed Janice too.
I thought he raised it but never quite got up to his head. But then you have a burglary and aggravated assault, which he can still say he was doing it to protect Gene.
He did tell him, but there's still no evidence, he can just deny it. Or say that Gene forced him to say it at gunpoint, which he did. And Gene has told so many versions of events, his credibility is out the window too. Not to mention he's been spending all the money Barry gave him, and using the connections he got from working with him in Hollywood.

dude cracked me up in every scene he was in
Show had a great balance between (over the top) story lines and jokes. Don't know if there is a next season but I wouldn't be mad if this is the end, you can't give a bad guy like Barry an other end really, dude doesn't deserve a straight up happy ending. Not after how he did his pupils at the temple
