Yes it does and this new TV contract will have it cost more.

I agree with Barkley, and do agree that players are part of it. I only wish he said the NBA itself and drew a line with that and the price of entertainment going up.

Why would you blame the employees for prices going up?

And would you blame employees of other goods & services for the same thing?

Technically NBA on NBC Showtime was the highest rated basketball show ever

Maybe the game,I'm talking the actual pre and post-game show, inside the NBA is a goddamn institution.
NBC always had high production values, but once the game was over not a damn soul gave a fukk about what Hannah Storm had to say.

I don’t give a fukk about Barkley either, but his point is valid. The cost of accessing entertainment is getting higher and unaffordable.
Then stop being a fukking addict as a fan a do something about it ….but you won’t because you and people like you lack the ability to take personal accountability for your actions which is why the teams you support will have a maxed out crowd all next season so shut the bullshyt up complaining about player greed when you’re an addict :mjlol:
Who is going to games tho? It’s not the regular person but those that can afford it. Sports is becoming more and more unaffordable. Corporate benefactors and upper middle class people can fill those seats up but it’s harder to justify for regular people.
It is the regular person there ain’t that many fukking millionaires and “corporate benefactors” filling out 30k - 70k seats …. them shyts are sold out every year because fans are addicts …big ass football stadiums filled to capacity and shyt lmao ….why? Because you’re an addict …there was just a nikka in this very thread talking about how he chose to spend 2 bands on some tickets :mjlol:
Like I said before, this docile state people are in is due for to accessing entertainment. When those prices become too high, watch out.
nikka please people are still buying Jordan’s at 200+ dollars a pop .. American culture is rooted and bathed in consumerism ….you nikkas are addicts in denial looking to blame somebody else instead of taking accountability for self it’s sad …and you prop up fat self serving c00ns like this who literally lie to you because they make you feel better about yourself and your condition :dead:

I don't think anyone should expect the NBA to take less money on TV Media deals and the players to take less of a cut of that new revenue, it's all business...

BUT... it's still a fact that they have priced out some fans out of arenas and are now pricing fans out of watching at home. There's some things they could do to alleviate that but it's unlikely to happen.

Players are greedy and selfish but so are most people. People like to say that concerts are flopping because the artist don't really have fans, but its also because shiit is way too high. Everything is way too high. Only ones who salary is keeping up with inflation is athletes. the average worker can't afford these high prices,

Whose fault is it that workers allowed the rich to destroy the union movement?

i dont think you get it.

Nothing “greedy” about getting your fair market share. Just because players have never been convinced by rich owners, that they are worth less than their market share makes them greedy. It just shows how stupid most Americans have been and not fighting for their’s.

You really sat here and brought up inflation, no increase in salaries, while excluding the owners who are behind it. :mindblown:

Do you call police greedy when their union works for them? They are some of the biggest tax wasters this country sees in the average American experiences when they get paid. do you cry about them getting paid too much?

Most nba revenue doesn’t come from attendance. Same with NFL.

I’m not sure what the point of this is. I said there is a point where people won’t be able to afford entertainment. It’s coming closer than you think.

Just because the buffet is all you can eat doesn't mean you need to eat twelve plates. Thats just greedy.

When the fans can no longer come to games or buy merchandise, what happens then? But hey they got theirs right?

It seems like the league has already priced out a lot of fans in the arenas and now they are going to price out some fans who watch at home.

The average fan won't have cable and Peacock and Amazon all at once...
This take doesn’t make much sense considering games are going to now be made available on regular broadcast TV from NBC with this new deal so you’ll have 2 different regular broadcast companies showing NBA basketball unlike before ….added to the fact that nearly half the country already has Amazon prime :mjlol: Everything else from ESPN/ABC is essentially what customers were already getting anyways with the last deal

Sorry… I don’t do simpleton “but hey… They got theirs “

This is the second post in a row that you made excluding owners.

You really spoke about inflation, while excluding those who set the pricing

“They got theirs… right “is simpleton talk that came out of your mouth. I don’t do that simple stuff. I dig deeper. Just because that’s your lane doesn’t mean you have to force that onto me.

You are mad because, unlike the American worker, NBA players forced the owners to invest into them. That is the power of unions and in making sure they get their fair share. Just because Americans aren’t getting their fair share you blame NBA players for getting theirs.

That is the epitome of stupidity and a description of how trained Americans have been the last 40 years

I said most people are greedy. Owners being greedy don't change the fact that players are greedy too, They all greedy. Stop trying to make these players out to be noble men. You really compared police officers to basketball players.

The product is trash because they’re actively telling fans we’re tanking. The last time they were in the playoffs in 2018 they were in the top half of league attendance. People had no problem paying that price when they were entertained because.
Most nba revenue doesn’t come from attendance. Same with NFL.
Completely irrelevant to what I wrote and what you were arguing …I didn’t say most of the revenue came from attendance anyways.
I’m not sure what the point of this is. I said there is a point where people won’t be able to afford entertainment. It’s coming closer than you think.
The point is that fans are addicted to the sport based on the data on their spending and your made up “breaking point” that you and the c00n you’re parroting to shyt on black NBA players isn’t reflected in recent consumer behavior or buying patterns which is why you can’t even define what that breaking point looks like in any quantitative way :dead: It’s just “trust me bro” which is how you ended up in here in lock step with a c00n that’s lying to your face.

It’s hilarious watching coli basketball business experts goalpost shift from

“nba is failing nobody is going to give them the tv money they’re looking for”

To

“buhh buhhhhh buh what about the price to the fans yalll ….charles barkely and his 20 million dollar a year broadcasting contract is trying to look out for us!!!”

Once the tv deal they said wouldn’t happen closes :mjlol:

I said most people are greedy. Owners
No. Owners are greedy. There’s nothing greedy about wanting your fair share to overall revenue as a worker. Owners are greedy and you do not have the ability or capacity to have that focus.
