I don’t care chummy many find his soft toe ass on Inside the NBA, but this dude needs not have a major voice for the NBA. He gives the league bad PR, rallying fans to hate the league. I can’t imagine the NFL or MLB having such a clown as its ambassador

I get what you mean about the way he tears down players/teams etc regularly on the show, but I actually don't think there is anything wrong with someone, especially a retired legend, complaining about the prices to attend a game live and paywalling games on amazon and expecting people to also have cable packages AND a streaming service.

it should be more affordable, that is how you grow the game.

gonna be ironic if Bezos throws him a bag to work on Amazon once the TNT deal expires tho:patrice:

Players aren't greedy at all... hes way off base shoehorning players in his responses about the league and its probably coming from a place of jealously of the money they have earned that he never could.

Charles Barkely is right about pricing out alot of NBA fans

Not sure if the stadiums do that, but they should be at least allocating 10-15% of the available seats to be low priced. Harder to do that with parking, food/drinks, and merchandise. But at least with ticket prices they can cut some fans some slack

Nah I actually agree.

Chuck should keep it real about the product and speak from the perspective of the fan/consumer that makes it possible for these players to land 200 million dollar + contracts

The league will eventually price out their fan base if they aren’t careful with some of the moves they are making to grow the game. The NBA is not the NFL

I think the quote isn't as bad as the actual headline, but yeah I wouldn't blame the players either. but I can understand the otherside would push back and say the players and the owners both want the most revenue, so they will go to the highest bidder, just like players won't reduce the schedule because it's more revenue etc.

I personally don't think the players are greedy and think they should be paid more and there should be no salary cap at all fukk these owners. :hubie:

Don't watch the NFL like that. Why would pricing out the fans be bad for the NBA, but not for the NFL?

I think he's just saying the NFL has so much popularity that it's basically untouchable, whereas the NBA could lose a lot of meaningful support that it needs.

NFL can basically say fukk you to a large chunk of their audience and still be king, it's not the same for the NBA.

While Chuck is seemingly ignorant to a lot of the nuances to being an analyst, his critiques for happenings in and around the league are relevant IMO. TNT has enabled him and the cast to be themselves and say whatever for the most part. They sound like fans in large.

You need some balance with the discourse for the league. If not, you would get everything being cringe like how ESPN was covering the draft and Bronny James

:pachaha:

Really spending time having analysts break down his game and all skating around the elephant in the room about him not being good like that. Now that's one day I wish TNT had coverage for, this years draft
