This was pretty solid for the most part. Brilliant build-up of tension in that first hour that was better than anything I’ve seen in horror this year. Kinda lost itself mid-way and wish it maintained its creepiness all the way through, but it’s still one of my favorites that I found refreshing. This felt like a mix of Malignant’s what-the-fukkery with that classic, Evil Dead unsettling vibe for a solid chunk.
I don’t think a jump scare has ever hit me as hard since The Descent, and similarly flips the entire film on its head in such a good way. I was really expecting the film to get even more demented from here. For those who have watched, y’all already know which scene I’m talking about.
I already recognized Georgina from Black Mirror, and she did her thing here. Where the hell has Justin Long been at though? Feels like I haven’t seen the dude in years. Glad he’s back.
