Exactly. I HATED the 8 year retirement plotline, they should've had Bane fighting Bats in his prime then beating his ass. The first fight should've been a veteran, overconfident Batman (not the shadow of Batman in the film) who is in his prime but still no match for Bane. It should've been Batman in Tyson mode, still nasty as fukk, but Bane is just nastier. Then Bats should've come back in the end on some Muhammed Ali shyt and got Bane tired, then destroyed his shyt. That second fight is horrible. As a matter of fact, I pretty much hate everything that happens in the movie after Bruce gets out of the underground prison
But that would not and should not have happened. The only way Bane should ever be able to beat Batman without the venom is for Batman to be physically weak ala the leg injury in the movie. Even if the movie Batman is not as proficient as comic book Batman in the martial arts, movie Batman still would have beaten Bane if both were in their prime. They both learned under Ra's Al Ghul, but Ra's admitted that Bruce was his greatest student. Bane didn't even finish the league of shadows training. No way he beats peak Batman.
Batman >>> always over Bane if both are in their prime and Bane has no venom pumping through his veins. THAT'S why they should have had Bane with the venom in my opinion. Make him such a physically imposing figure that Bats might even be a little bit afraid of facing him.
I hated the 8 year retirement too by the way.
