you shouldnt be this mad at people holding the FO accountable, you should be mad at the FO though. Dude averaging 20/5/5 on 45% from the field in 27 minutes a game. no way you can spin that as bad or he sucks. but thats besides the point...giving away young players (bird rights) is a bad idea most of the time. this isnt a lonzo v. dlo debate...they couldve co-existed anyways. but as of this year yes DLO is better than Lonzo..dude has 8.9 PER. thats all that needs to be said. he'll get better and probably will be more impactful than Russell but he isnt now

ehh thats debateable. the whole team defense philosophy and effort has improve. but regardless, KCP is a great defender, but you can find defensive specialist anywhere. Andre Roberson is a great defender but I bet they take Russell over him in a heartbeat. same for any defensive specialist. all star-level scorer > defensive specialist

He's an awful fukking defender. That's the problem with Russell that doesn't show up on the stats you just listed.

He also just got benched for having way too many turnovers. Another problem you failed to list.

He's also inconsistent where he will go 5/7 for 14 points in the first quarter and 2/8 for 4 points the rest of the way.

I'm not mad at anyone other than dudes that are still under the assumption that Dlo is better than Lonzo despite Lonzo only having 12 NBA games.

I don't even dislike Russell to the point where I'm not willing to admit that him and Zo would've actually worked well together..

But it is what it is. We got rid of Mozgovs contract and got one of the best bigmen in the league in return (despite his shooting inconsistency, not to many centers scoring multiple 30+ games and shooting 6 threes and etc).

On top of that, we got Kuz... That is better than Russell just slightly different

And I never thought KCP was better than Russell but defensively he's lightyears better.

My point is, Russell is gone. He's a shoot first PG thats doing the same shyt in Brooklyn and doing worse than us. Zo is a rookie who needs shooters and NEEDS to find his shot now.

But comparing a rookie to a 3 year player??? A rookie whose only real flaw is scoring??

I didn't even know he had just got benched for turnovers..

And thats supposed to be HIS team now...

And remember, Dlo is not a rookie but still doing the same shyt.

youre looking for reasons to hate. his defense is not that bad, statistically he is an average defender for his position. he's turning the ball over, but remember who he is playing with. We were taking Kuzma regardless of the trade, and I dont think Brook will be back. so we basically traded him for a salary dump.

No I am not looking for reasons to hate, I'm objectively looking at how he's doing and how he plays. He is not an average defender, he's an awful defender and both him and the coach have acknowledged he has a LONG way to go defensively.

Turning the ball over has nothing to do with who you're playing with. He's averaging 4.3 a game to 5 something assists, that's awful and again he was just benched for it and the coach brought it up too that he has to cut down on it.

Kuzma was apart of the trade.
