DETROIT (Do Every Thing Right Or It's Trouble)
It’s been harder to tell what year their in
I usually base it off the clothes their wear
But they’ve wearing shyt that didn’t come out until the late 90s/early 2000s
Exactly, the Henri chick said her favorite restaurant was Cadillac Square Diner downtown. They must have googled that shyt because it wasn’t even called that until just recently. It was called Motown Diner around 2015.

The music was on point on first season with the popular songs but they started playing lesser known artists who sound current. Second and third season, idk what they doing now

I asked ChatGPT to critique the series and it’s pretty spot on with our critiques

1. Inconsistent Pacing

Critique:

Some episodes feel rushed, while others drag. The show sometimes skips over major plot developments or lingers too long on side stories, disrupting the flow.

Example:

Season 2 in particular was criticized for filler episodes and meandering subplots that didn’t add much to the main arc.

2. Dialogue and Writing Weaknesses

Critique:

While the show captures the grit of the streets, the dialogue can feel forced or overly expository. Some characters sound unnatural, like they’re explaining the plot rather than living in it.

Example:

Viewers have pointed out that Lucille’s (the mother) religious outbursts and Charles’s (the father) strictness feel repetitive rather than nuanced.

3. Overuse of Guest Stars

Critique:

The show has brought in numerous celebrities—Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Kash Doll, Yung Miami—but some appearances feel like stunts rather than storytelling decisions.

Example:

Yung Miami’s acting performance in Season 2, Episode 8 was widely mocked online for lacking emotional realism in a key scene.

4. Historical Inaccuracy / Glamorization

Critique:

Some critics argue the show romanticizes drug dealing and the BMF lifestyle, softening the consequences and skipping over the damage done to communities.

Counterpoint:

The show does try to highlight family struggles and consequences, but the allure of fast money often dominates the screen.

5. Character Development Gaps

Critique:

Certain characters are introduced with potential but aren’t fleshed out, making their decisions or fate feel unearned.
Example:

Characters like K-9 or Lamar sometimes switch between comic book villainy and serious menace, making it hard to read them as real people.

6. Visual and Production Quality

Critique:

The production value is inconsistent. Some scenes look polished and cinematic, while others feel low-budget or overly lit like a soap opera.
