I do too but thats the way we get a pick - I think its lottery protected through 2028

their starting 5 isnt bad with the Grant trade (although I dont think hes as good as others) but they have no depth

Lillard would have to be back to all nba levels and Simons would have to seriously breakout as a consistent 20+ point guy. They are prob going to be around the play in - so if they can get hot for a week then, who knows

they could also completely fall apart this season if Dame got hurt again - Im not counting on this pick at all, but the Grant trade tells me they arent trying to outright tank at least

I totally expect simons to breakout and build upon last season. if he can replace CJ's production, they could make the playoffs. and that's ONLY given dame is healthy this year of course.

Actually a little disappointed …I think prioritizing Pat in a bench role away from the “3 allstars” would make a lot of sense actually ..but they would need to actually prioritize him and put him in actions where he can do more than sit in the corner

If that decision was made due to javonte injury and wanting to bring him along slower then I'm cool with that

But if it's still sticking pwill at the 4 due to where he was selected then at this point he getting entitlement minutes he doesn't deserve. Javonte has been outplaying him. Or maybe it's match ups and they feel Williams height will work better vs the heat. Idk

this is surprising to me, Javonte definitely outplayed him and looked more comfortable playing alongside Zach Demar & Vuce

I also found it very discouraging if Pat didn’t start this season but Billy was the one who opened the conversation for it and Pat got outplayed so I don’t get how the decision was made tbh

They already tried gift wrapping the starting position to this dude before. I'm disappointed. I believe in Pat, but he did not earn the starting spot, and it sets a bad tone to the guys he just jumped in front of who have outplayed him for a year now. (specifically Javonte)

Plus, he played much better with the 2nd unit anyway.

its only a conversation because Billy decided to make it one

Javonte is a nice energy guy but hes not a NBA starter unless he suddenly can drill 3s at a serious consistent rate, even then hes just a weird player type? Hes not a lock down defender but his defense works? He plays the lanes well and is OK with rebounding. Runs the floor exceptionally well and cuts well on offense but in a half court setting he just doesnt offer much, hes just out there kinda. His impact is just hard to understand

I think he actually offers less playing with the bench because we need playmakers and scorers when Zach & Demar are out, but Billy always cycles them anyways

I dont know, this team is just boring to me right now. We needed Pat to be a high level impact player entering year 3 for this team to be taken seriously
