Well there's

Eric Dampier
Speedy Claxton
Brian Cardinal
Gilbert Arenas
Jerome James
Adam Archuleta

Arenas wasn't phoning it in, he racked up a bunch of knee injuries in a short period of time. The Wizards offered him that monster contract WHILE he was hurt. His problem was he acted like a dumbass after he gained some notoriety.

Probably gonna catch hell for this, but this is why I believe all sports contracts should be incentive laden. A base salary for every player, then with the more you play, more stats you put up, and more impact you make, the more money you make.

I know it will never happen, but theres just too many bums getting overpaid, and theres also a lot who are stuck in bad contracts and getting underpaid for their performances

No, fukk that. If cats are getting overpaid tell the gm's to do a better job.

It happens every year in every sport. Some body sets the market at an outrageous sum and then the other team has to decide to match the price or lose an asset. It's crazy if u think about the money some of these cats's have stolen over the years. If you are not a SUPERSTAR of the highest order, meaning consistent alltar, all league one of the leading scorers or rebounders etc. team in the playoffs every year then u can't justify making these outrageous sums of money. My boy who is a Magic fan has cried about that Rashard Lewis contract for years and all i can say to him is would u turn it down if they offered it to you though.

I meant they deserve most of the blame.

And those two particular players still deserve a part of the blame, just because front office fukks up doens't mean you should'nt have some pride and at least TRY to earn that paycheck.

Jerome James was a horrible player and was grossly overpaid so there add no way for him earn that he shouldnt have got the money people were making fun of the Knicks before the even made that deal .The guy was avg 4 ppg and 3 rb which he was right around . Zeke gets all the blame for that because it was completely stupid .

How many players in the NBA avg. 4 rebounds? :pachaha: If the only criteria for getting a max contract is avg. 20 pts (or close to it) then something is wrong.

:rudy: he avg around 7.5rebs
yes dats still too low for a 7footer but playing aside hump who avg bout 12rebs takes broads away from him

The GM's the one that loses his job. He does get the blame. Sometimes he gets the blame even when it wasn't his decision.

7 foot young above average C that can walk and chew gum at the same damn time.

i'm not saying the dude is complete :trash: but he's not worth a MAX contract. It's Howard, Bynum, 6 feet of horse shyt and then the rest leagues centers.

inb4 its ok for Lopez to avg low rebs because Wallace and Humphries get rebs

Don't know why guys can't make this distinction. There is absolutely NO justification for giving a guy a Max contract when he's not even one of the 5 best players at his position in the league.

Joe Johnson for instance is a VERY good player, but no way in hell is he worth that contract he has.

Let me present to you; mr. Jerome James.

jerome-james.jpg

Career avarage: 4.3 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 0.3 apg, 0.3 spg and 1.1 bpg on 48.5 fg %. Only played 358 games in the NBA + 17 playoff games. :bryan:

Total earnings: $44,755,150

*Note* I know, I know he got paid after Seattles run in 05 playoffs where he avaraged 12 / 6 but it's still mind-boggling that anyone would throw that money at him after just an 11 game sample size. :mindblown:

When you think about it, dude made a total of 1540 points in the NBA and made 44+ millions. That's close to 1 million per 30 points made :russ:

He earned more than double what Magic made in his NBA career :troll:

The list goes on brehs. Dude is the definition of the american dream.
