I never really watched the LOTR flicks so I didn't get why the audience was laughin when Iron Man called him that. Dude at my job explained it to me the next day.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
Saw it yesterday, really good flick. A tad bit overhyped, but good nevertheless. Hulk and Iron Man was insane, Cap even got to do his thing. Loki and Thor were really toned down though. I didn't see how Banner got to control or learned to control his anger as the Hulk though

Heath Ledger as the Joker>>>>>>>

The Dark Knight should really be called The Joker cause he was the film to me

You had to have watched the last hulk flick to get how he controlled it.

Spot on about TDK. Any scene that didn't involve the Joker was meh at best. ALL of Batman fight scenes going back to the 89 flick is borderline wack at best and because damn near all of it is at night and the camera is so close up you don't see shyt.

Movie was okay.I'd give it 4/5 stars.

I feel like they did just enough to make it above average, but they could've done more.

Flashes of brilliance mixed with small stretches of boredom. The flashes of brilliance mostly happened in the 2nd half.

The first 20-30 minutes had me nodding off a lil bit.

Iron Man put in the most work.Cap was shown better than he was in his own film.Thor was decent enough.

Hulk was he shyt.I wasn't really feeling his design, though. He seemed to ape'ish at times

That's why I said they did enough to make it above average.

But that shyt should've been 6/5.

Oh, perhaps I misread. I thought you said that it wasn't above average.

Sorry you felt that way guy. I thought the movie was excellent. Definitely the best true to its roots superhero comic book movie out there. I'm contemplating seeing it a 3rd time.

Funny that you mentioned the 1st 20 minutes or so being kinda a drag and whatnot. Honestly, I felt that way during my first viewing, but not at all during the 2nd. I think it's cuz of how it was hyped, I thought it was going to come in guns blazing hard from the get-go for some reason, but upon 2nd viewage, it seemed quite more like a true comic book set up beginning IMO and was done right. A lot of the lower key moments resonated even stronger to me the 2nd time going in.

Maybe I'll like it better the 2nd time around.I'm actually taking my son to go see it tonight.

Don't get me wrong, I thought it was a dope ass movie.I think my expectations were a lil to astronomical.

In a way, it was a introduction movie.Even though all the prior films led up to this one, the Avengers still had to be introduced to us as a group. They had to spend a lot of the time putting all the ingredients together.

I'm willing to give them a pass on this one.Considering what had to be done, they did a really good of balancing that off and giving us a 2nd half full of action and entertainment.

I thought that 3rd act came together quite lovely.I was amped up when Cap started barking out orders:lolbron:

That was the moment when I felt like the "live version of The Avengers" was officially established.

Now that we're beyond that point, I expect the sequel to be the best comic book movie ever.

Like I said, The Avengers was very solid, but I don't recall any jaw dropping moments that left me in awe. It's a very good, almost great flick. It's dope, but it barely missed the mark on greatness. It was almost there.

I expect the 2nd one to go above and beyond. That seems to be the pattern with comic book movies lately. The 2nd is always the best
