Seen it last night. Amazing movie.
I skimmed the thread, and seen some people say Loki and his army wasn't credible threats....they were never meant to be. The whole thing was set up by Thanos to be a jab, not a knock out punch. To see how Earth and The Avengers specifically, would respond. That's why the leader alien said "humans weren't the cowering wretches we were promised"....Thanos sold this as a walk in the park because he didn't care about this minor victory. He don't care about petty sh*t like Loki ruling Earth, he wanted to gauge how they'd react to a threat.
A lot of people are praising the action, which was incredible, but ignoring the script. And I don't just mean the humor, the script in general was bananas.
As far as Hulk and the helicarrier, there's a theory going around that Loki had the Mind Gem, which is blue....like the crystal in his staff that he was using to control people. It would also explain why Banner suddenly picked up the staff without even realizing it.

Nah it definitely can't. But they could have Thanos rise to power over the next batch of solo movies ("Ironman 2", "Thor 2", etc.)....have a little scene at the end of each like they did building up to "Avengers"....then make him be the main villain in "Avengers 2", which ain't even coming out until 2015. They got plenty of time and cameos to build up until then.

^ word i forgot the solo movies--- they could the issue b 1 or 2 gems per solo movie-- sprinkle in cameos (end credits -- thanos) all leading up to him putting on the guantlet in the end credits of the last solo movie before avengers 2--

That would be some good shyt. Think Thor 2 is coming out next year as well as Ironman 2. No word on Capt. America 2 or Hulk or Black Widow/Hawkeye.

Yeah, I had a feeling that Loki may have been low key manipulating cats minds when I seen the movie too. Especially due to that argument scene and just the way the camera was focusing on on a few things.
I almost wish to see this again and if I'm bored sometime on the weekend with money to blow, I just might do that.

The Galaga sh*t killed me. Dude was like
after Stark left the room.
The old man that stood up to Loki was thugged out. "There's always men like you". The Cap line about Hitler after that was ill too.
"I am Loki of Asgard and I am burdened with glorious purpose."...."does the ant have a quarrel with a boot?"....Loki had lines for days. Whedon has always excelled at making quotable villains.
Ironman: "I'm bringing the party to you".
*huge alien worm flies by*
Black Widow: "That doesn't look like a party".
Stark zapping the sh*t outta Banner in the lab.
Hulk stiff-arming the f*ck outta that alien worm, like
The Stark Tower building only having an A at the end, didn't even notice it was the same font as the Avengers logo until all the other letters were gone. I guess that was the point though.
All kinds of sh*t. Movie was great.

Fred you son of a bytch, didn't I tell you like 5 or 6 different times that Thanos would be in the movie as a post-credit glimpse? But you kept insisting that wouldn't be the case...I was right, you were wrong.
