Black Panther Fight Scene Cut From Avengers: Endgame Final Battle

"We didn’t really shuffle it around a lot. I remember we did have a much more elaborate sequence with [Thanos’s henchman, Ebony] Maw," Ford explained. "His battle with Panther was longer. I remember we took it down because when they come through the portals, they kind of introduce all these characters into the story that haven’t been in the movie yet…Panther and Maw felt like, that’s not the story that we’re tracking, so maybe we reduce that stuff." Given how massive that final battle was - bringing nearly every costumed hero in the MCU together to take on Thanos and his army - it's arguably easy to see why this sequence was shortened. But nevertheless, the world of Black Pantherand Wakanda definitely had an impact on Endgame -- and especially on its predecessor, Avengers: Infinity War.

“Listen, a year ahead of time, we had no idea ‘Wakanda Forever’ was going to be amazing,” co-writer Stephen McFeely said during Infinity War's commentary track. “We tested this movie a few times, and when we got to this scene, most of the audiences, say in January and early February, went, ‘Oh this is an interesting place, I’ve never been here before.’ After mid-February, once Black Pantherhad come out, this scene gets a huge cheer. It just rewards you investing in these characters. I shouldn’t have been surprised, but boy, I was really pleased.”
“It was a big conversation early on. I said, ‘We’re going to set a lot of the third act in Wakanda because if you’re going to go anywhere in the world to protect a McGuffin from an evil alien, it’s going to be Wakanda,’” co-director Joe Russo added.

According to Dr. Strange (plot railroading) there was only one way to defeat Thanos. Supposedly that's what we saw happen so Tony had to do what he did.

Logically Thor, Hulk, or Captain Marvel could have done what Tony did though. I'm pretty sure CM had the gauntlet in her hands so she could have wished Thanos and his crew away and Tony wouldn't have had to die. Scarlet Witch was pretty powerful too she probably could have used it and survived.

I still think it was done for the drama over it making sense. The legacy of that movie wouldn't have been half of what it was if Tony didn't get killed off. Black Widow wasn't really moving anybody. She didn't even get an in movie funeral.

Jus watched this last night. Crazy how the past 5 years could have been avoided if someone pulled off the average street magic slight off hand that Stark pulled at the end. Could have just pulled the stones out the first time they were playing tug-o-war with the gauntlet in Infinity War. Dope movie tho.

First it wasn't slight of hand, the gauntlet in Endgame was made of the same nanotech as Tony's suit. Tony was able to manipulate the nanobots in both to move the stones from the gauntlet to his suit. Second, not everyone can hold any stone with their barehand. The power stone killed the Collector's servant and the space stone messed up Red Skull. So your plan wasn't an option.

Tony had the Nanobot suit in Infinity war. 100% could have pulled the stones off like he did in Endgame. He had the perfect opportunity to do it when Mantis, Fate, Spidey, Drax and him where trying to pull the gauntlet off Thanos before Quill fukked it up.

Nanotech slight of hand still feasible. :sas2:

shyt would have started a riot :damn:

We just watched the movie where they had the 1 chance to win :troll:

The Russo's don't have the stones to pull that off. I haven't watched Endgame since I saw it on release day. It was a chore to get through.

since your expectations are low now, you’ll be able to watch it easier.
