But watching it is necessary.

Not gonna lie I almost cried a couple times.

This was powerful and I feel obligated to tell people to watch this. It's sad how this country has been shaped. Watching this really opens your eyes to injustices..

:francis: This country is disturbing. The way they strip the rights of people of color by introducing these ridiculous laws and sentences..

I was manipulated to believe Bill Clinton was such a great guy.. Smh that I ever gave him a respect.

Nixon, Reagan, Bush, now Trump :pacspit:

This country present day, and its history is disgusting.

Man, I finally sat down to watch this. This documentary is killing me on so many levels. What's more is with all the evidence of what this country has done to oppress us, you can't get these fakkit cac supremacists to admit it :mindblown:

It's also crazy how Nixon, Atwater, and Ragen basically did all they could to destroy the little progress the black community made and how bush and Clinton just fell in line to throw more dirt on the grave.

I'm not even done with this yet, but fukk if this doesn't have me so sad, angry, and discouraged. :(

Imagine if one of these other countries stepped in and went at Amerikkka's neck for their treatment of black and brown folk.

The last line made at the very end by Stevenson was pure ether and what I had been ruminating in my head for quite a while.

" people (cacs) how could people tolerate slavery or going to lynching picnics"

"People (cacs) say if they were living in the times slavery or segregation, they would have never tolatered anything like that"

"The truth is we are living at this time, and we are tolerating it".

I'm still too p*ssy to watch this by myself. I don't want to just internalise all that rage and sorrow by myself.

I think i gotta watch it with people I can share my emotions with and vocalize my thoughts as they arise....don't want to be depressed

It had a powerful message but looking at it as just a documentary it wasnt very good. It jumped from place to place too quickly and it felt like it took on too much.

I can see how that could be the case, trying to condense so much information into a documentary, almost doesn't do the black experience justice

I only saw bits and pieces of this film because I knew most of what would be in this film already but man, watching it in full today made me so angry. fukk Bill and all other Clintons. :pacspit:

For real, this documentary has me fukking mad. This is “The New Jim Crow” book in movie form.

Great documentary for the wrong reasons sadly.

To be a Negro in this country and to be relatively conscious is to be in a rage almost all the time.
