I hope you guys realize nothing is going to happen.
What can anyone do? This is why its important to own things...you can do and say as you wish. This isnt even a business where people can/will boycott.

I know The Coli is anti gay...but look at Chick Fil A. Any private company can openly say they dont like you or your people and as long as most of their customers dont care, they will be fine.
What does he have to lose? Nothing at all. There is no shortage of people that want to play basketball, and no shortage of people that want to go to games.

Do you still eat at Chick Fil A?

white people boycotted. minorities kept them afloat until it blew over. brothas wasn't stopping....it's like an admission of being gay by boycotting. A lot of black people have a hard time supporting those types of issue as it makes them see to be a victim instead of an equal rights advocate. "bruh i'm in the church...or bruh i ain't gay so i'll keep eating"

"As for his girlfriend the mysterious V. Stiviano, we happened to know a few things. V stands for Vanessa, her full name is Maria Vanessa Perez, 38, she also goes by other aliases including Monica Gallegos, Maria Valdez and Vanessa Perez, she met Sterling in February, 2010 at the Super Bowl, they began an affair that same year. two women have referred to Vanessa Perez aka V. Stiviano as their sister Karen Beltran and Grammy Award singer Kay Cola."

really?
could have sworn racism was a power move to build a hierarchy. i wouldn't 100% call it ignorance.

all i know is if my black ass was a nba owner i'd have all white players and black coaches to make a statement and show my power as a check cutter to whites. i wouldn't be racist...just creating a power dynamic and changing a mind-set. But then i'll have people saying why can't i hire black player to give them a check....and i'll smh.
I think anybody who dislikes or looks down upon someone based on race can be described as ignorant.

*disclaimer - I apologize in advance, this shyt might not flow coherently*

i'm so disappointed in the clipper players and coaching staff it aint funny...not only am I disappointed, i'm fukking hurt...these punk muthafukkas had a chance to start/spark some shyt....all eyes of the media are on them and they had a chance to say 'we aint taking this shyt no more'....seriously, just think about all the shyt that's been piling on blacks in the last year alone: zimmerman kills a young brotha cause he didnt think he shouldve been in that neighborhood; another white kills another young brotha cause of loud music; young sista gets killed by white asking for help; another young brotha gets killed by another white when asking for help; you got young brothas in the chi and other places in the US killing each other cause they see no other way to make it cause of what they've been taught; you got rappers that keep putting out music talking about tearing the community down, which in turn is helping tear the community down cause muthafukkas dont have the proper education to separate fact from fiction, and understand that it's just entertainment and not a guide on how to live; the same goes for movies, tv, etc., media in general; you got young brothas and sistas not getting the proper education in school cause of funding 'loopholes' that keep them from getting access to money needed for said education; etc..I can keep going but i'll stop to continue on with my point....

so today, after hearing from the owner of the team yall play for, that he thinks yall are pretty much field ******s that should be happy/satisfied with the scraps he gives you, and that you better know your place.....with all the eyes of the world on yall, yall had a chance to say 'we tired of this shyt and we aint taking it no more'...so what do they do? nothing of significance...dropping shirts at half court? get the fukk outta here....wearing warm-ups inside out? get the fukk outta here...playing the game? get the fukk outta here....and then after the game, you hear that people were highly disappointed with that bullshyt statement, so now you wanna do a real statement game 5? get the fukk outta here...it's too late now...yall don't get a do over...you had your shot and blew it...after those tapes came out and the min silver said he wasnt worried about yall boycotting, not playing, he was testing yall to see if you were really gonna stand up to the shyt that's been kicking yall asses for years...and yall punk muthafukkas folded....yall basically just told the world yall were cool with the shyt he said...and that you being black men comes second to playing basketball...that yall cool with them shytting on yall as black men as long as you get a check and a chance at a fukking ring...those punk muthafukkas are a disgrace...anyone that defends the shyt they did are a fukking disgrace...

for those curious what I think they should've done: walked out there as a team, cp3 or doc should've grabbed a mic, and said: 'we'd like to apologize to the warriors and all those that came out today for game 4, but due to recently circumstances, we have decided not to play today...in fact, we've decided not to play again until Donald sterling is no longer associated with the clippers organization...does this ruin our chances at a championship? ruin money opportunities? sure, but somethings are worth more than money and rings....and since us not playing isn't the fault of anyone in attendance, we will sign autographs for any and everyone in this building at (insert whatever location; half court would've been great)...again, we apologize, but we hope you understand somethings are more important than a game. Thank you.'

I dapped your post because it's very coherent, and honest, and I feel all of it. The problem is that I think them doing what you and others request would have damaged their contracts, so while it may have felt good temporarily, it would have hurt them in the long-run. They were never going to do this

What gets me about that photo is that, the way I heard it, the white boy wanted to be part of the protest, but was vetoed, so he wore something in support of the two brothers. Since Doc said he was the only one who was going to speak for the team on this matter, it's possible that Doc is the one who orchestrated the warm up protest and told them they the NBA would allow them to wear black socks and black armbands in protest but anything else would fukk up the rest of their lives in the league? They became the white boy who wanted to also make a bolder gesture, but wasn't allowed to. You do what you can. Even Luz Long didn't throw middle fingers at Hitler, he did one better by treating Jesse like a human being and a brother in front of Der Fuhrer.

And like others said, it's kind of wrong to place this on the players, when it's the Commissioner and the other owners and the league itself which should be making the biggest statement.

The warm up photos have made international news. We'll see what happens for the next game.

You have some quotes or links to articles? I'd love to read it.

Donald Sterling points to Israel, V. Stiviano cites Holocaust | Jewish Telegraphic Agency

(read between the lines on this one.)

Extended Donald Sterling recording includes more horrific racism - SBNation.com

NBA owner Sterling reportedly sought to justify his racism by citing Israeli racism | Mondoweiss

"Sterling is Jewish, was born Donald Tokowitz. This fact is being widely mentioned in the Israeli press."

and more :manny:

it's a little bit at a time, and like in the first link you have to read between the lines... but yeah. Now, why Sterling's non-Anglicized name is being widely mentioned in Israel (the quote goes to two separate Israeli media organizations), who knows....

Everywhere...You never there.

I respect your sentiments. Very reasonable.

Three things:

1. Doc has already gone on record saying he wasn't cool with the black armband/sock gesture. He distanced himself from that in a deliberate manner during a post game presser, according to quotes I've seen.

2. The underlined is huge. The boycott could have likely destroyed their livelihood in the league, and led to litigation for breach of contract. And/or it could have helped spark a seismic shift in the league with the current imbalance of power becoming more evenly distributed.

But a man has to determine what's more important to him after evaluating the context and circumstances.

People keep talking about respect the process when no one can fully articulate what the process is (not even Mayor Kevin Johnson), and then the process has proven to be less-than-amicable to players' rights. Sure, the boycott could have caused a significant change in lifestyle for some players and for others not so much. But trust, despite the possible financial repercussions, most of those guys would STILL lead much more posh lifestyles than most of us could ever dream to lead.

oh... and

3. Where are all these posters coming from?! :russ: :salute: , tho! It's as if y'all have been in the woodwork, lurking just waiting for this day! :laff:

You are right, your posts are in the middle but you are clearly showing that you want to move the focus to Sterling and not white supremacy and you dapped Danny Up who was exposed within the first 50 pages for being a cac. He should have been banned with 7oclock. When I see you changing the subject and co-signing a proven cac, a red flag is thrown. I have always been in your corner so you know you really fukked up when you dapped Danny Up.
This isn't Tony from Meridian, MS and is a cac with no job. Donald Sterling is actually holding Black people back. :snoop:

I know you are a cac and got exposed really early into this thread but this is a truly horrible post and @Kritic you coming real close to crossing my line. You been on this playing the middle shyt and I am really starting to get frustrated with your recent posts. What is it man, you want to keep White supremacy or just be cool with Black folks to a degree?

Little did I know, these posts would actually expose Kritic later on throughout the day. I could have sworn he was a cool cac who got unconformable with the subject but this dude was a nikka the whole time.
