Its more than just money though...Charles and Shaq are saying these players should play for their "teammates" and not the "owner" as if there is really a difference in professional sports..

Ehhh...........while I would not have played and I am bothered by the whole idea of focusing on the game, this isn't the best analogy. There is something of individual and group merit of winning an NBA championship that goes down in history. Fighting to pick cotton to the best of your abilities will just make you the best of a nameless mass of exploited people who will go to unmarked graves and be forgotten or whose legacy will be framed solely by the slaveowners who oppressed you. You can separate the team from an owner or a city. Bill Russel did that, but that separation pales in comparison to what they can stand up for here.

winning a ring is only gonna really matter for a few players historically, and for a few more when it comes to finding the next contract. The historical significance of forcing the league to make action through unprecedented boycotting would be more significant than being the team who won it under such circumstances.
