ATL to MEM
Finally home.. gave the song a listen:

It’s ironic that she filmed this video outside of the Braves stadium.. a team that deliberately moved from the city of Atlanta to Cobb County :mjlol:

On one hand, I agree with her. The people born and raised inside the city limits came up with the anthems, dances, and movements that have spread across the state. I understand the pride of hearing apartments that either you lived in or know people from be shouted out in songs that reach the world. That’s your community, and you rightfully don’t want to have intruders invading it….

…… on the other hand, one of the biggest acts that have represented the city are the Migos (Gwinnett County) :francis:.. you can’t keep moving the goalpost on who you accept and who you don’t accept, it’s corny as fukk. The “Black Mecca” term that gets thrown around belongs to the METRO of Atlanta. Gwinnett, Cobb, and Dekalb are the places out of towners move to when starting fresh and making a family, not the actual city of Atlanta.

After the ‘96 Olympics, you’d think people from the city of Atlanta would understand how impactful the city is to the South and the globe, and that they have to play that “Big Bro” role…but I guess they’re not ready to fill those shoes :yeshrug:

Even that isn’t true as black folks from College Park, East Point, and Decatur have contributed just as much as folks from Atlanta proper. The funny thing is until recently folks considered anyone from ITP or close to it to be considered Atlanta. If someone said “You can’t claim Atlanta you from College Park/East Point” they woulda been looked at like a damn fool.

Honestly it seems the TI, Riverdale fiasco is what this is stemming from and folks from out of town have ran with it.

Grew up in Lilburn/Norcross. I-285 runs right through Jimmy Carter Blvd, and with decent traffic it’d take you about 30-40 mins to get to the city.

you said opposite end of G-Co, you in Loganville bruh :jbhmm:

I forgot to mention my brother’s mom used to live off beaver ruin for a minute but their originally from somewhere else. He went to meadowcreek (or, as the cac’s said “ghettocreek).

Decatur and College Park would like to have a word with you.

The so called A Town stomp is the Eastside Stomp

Eastside and College Park/EastPoint (Im not gonna say Southside because Clay Co really never mattered) were always their own world
