I’m born and raised in Decatur, but anywhere you can take Marta can claim ATL in my opinion. When I’m out of town, I say ATL, when I’m in town, I specifically say the Eastside(Decatur).

I feel like people from the state of New York do this the most. It's easy to just flat out say they're from New York and let people assume they're from NYC

yep the def do. I met a dude at my job and said he was from NY and I assumed the NYC I asked him what part and Newburg

NYC is very well defined it’s simply the 5 boroughs. You can tell because most nyers will tell you what borough they are from before the city .Easy tell is from someone actually says the word manhattan. We refer to it as the city and depending on where your at uptown, downtown or whatever neighborhood your referring to. I’ve never heard a New Yorker say I’m going to “Manhattan

I was always curious about that. As an outsider I’ve always considered Ft. Lauderdale to basically be Miami. It wasn’t until the newer generations of rappers that I realized there’s a real difference.

Ft Lauderdale is in Broward County. Its more laid back than Miami.

The thing about it down here is that none of our hoods have an inferiority complex.

Agreed. We are very specific in stating where we are from. I rep Little Haiti. To the outsiders, I tell them Im from Miami to keep it simple since many of them dont know the names of the unique districts and hoods in Metro Miami-Dade.
