In terms of overall impact on the business, top 10. I wouldn't put him in my personal top 10 (for the same reason I wouldn't put Hogan), but dude's been the face of the company for almost a decade, has probably sold the most merch of anyone bar Austin and puts in incredible amounts of media work, Make-A-Wish shyt to boot. Dude literally lives for pro wrestling - and to the new generation of wrestling fans he's what Hogan was in the 80's.

I can't be mad at that :manny: :salute:

Everywhere
oh ok

You got 15-25 more wrestlers higher? names :diddy:
Is it really that unbelievable? I remember when I was on of the few on here who respect Cena like that, now it's gospel he's top 10 :leon:

Anyway, no order.

Hogan
Austin
Rock
Flair
Savage
Taker
Inoki
Bret
Misawa
Harley Race
Andre
HBK
Sting
Piper
Dusty

Then you got guys like Steamboat, Terry Funk, Stan Hansen, Backlund, Jushin Liger and such who are just as impactful.

The difference with Cena maybe being Top 10 is his top status for years. But they don't really put him in a position to fail. They don't try to make him the top draw on big shows they sign bigger draws for that. He has no impact on TV or pop culture as much as people in the past. But he does well on House show and merch sales.

I like Cena as much as anyone. He's improved in ring and he's got respect from all his peers as the guy. But I don't think his place is as solid as the 15 I mentioned unless Vince tells you it's that way.

Top 20

Side note, does anyone place Cena over Sting? If so, what's the argument for it?

He's in that third tier of wrestling superstardom.

1st Tier - Hogan, Austin, Flair, Rocky
2nd Tier - HBK, Undertaker, Savage, Sting
3rd Tier - Jericho, Cena, Angle, HHH

When Sting was the top guy WCW was not doing big business. It's not his fault and really the actual in-ring work from WCW at the time was tremendous but behind the scenes the company was a mess from around the time Turner bought it from Crockett until 1996 when Hogan went heel.

Prior to Turner purchasing WCW there were times when Crockett was just as big as WWF. Everything was more regionalized as you know.

So no, I would not place Sting above Cena in terms of impact and I was always a big Sting fan.

I think top 20 is about right. You can't yet place him ahead of guys like Bruno who routinely sold out Madison Square Garden for over a decade.
