They didn't announce whether Discovery+ will be a new hub or a bundle. There's talk it could be a bundle. Whether it is or isn't is irrelevant. Discovery didn't "buy" shyt Lol.

You think they have the money to buy all of Warner Bros? it's a joint venture and they have a stake in it. The CEO of Discovery is a content and creative guy.

If they really want a big media library, they need to cancel that sale of Crunchyroll and throw all that shyt on HBO Max too.

Anime on streaming services in 2021 = Black sitcoms on new networks in the 90s.

HBO might not want to damage its brand hosting shows like 90 Day Fiance. I watch those shows and even I'll admit it's trash television.
Discovery CEO running things makes it more likely though.
I guess it would also be based on how much retention Discovery+ has with its free trial subs because last I read (in Feb/March) Discovery was touting those total numbers but not really sharing how many of the folks who jumped on the free trial actually became paying subscribers.

Att was selling whatever it could to get that debt off their back
It could care less about anime and the profit potential
Since Sony was willing to pay 1 billion for it they threw it at them
Not realizing they’re throwing away a lucrative asset but they don’t care

And really it shows the end game is to get out of entertainment all together and go back to just being a telecommunications company again which would be a smart move on their part.

And really they built a great streamer with HBOMAX but the Direct TV purchase was so bad it negates the streaming success and now they gonna have to use the streamer to offset the loss from Direct TV so they can continue to compete at a high level in telecommunications.
