I beat Origins and tapped out of Odyssey after 5 hours for reference.

Seeing this a lot. People who hated Odyssey seem to love this. People who loved Odyssey seem to despise this. I fall in the camp that thoroughly enjoyed Odyssey and so I won't be touching this until it's heavily discounted. Ubusoft Quebec (Syndicate,Odyssey) seems to hit for others while some seem to prefer Ubisoft Montreal (Unity, Origins, Valhalla.) Same company but the games' spirit is different.

I liked both :yeshrug: but the only constant I can really emphasize is that Assassin's Creed can't be the only game in your rotation. I enjoy chilling the fukk out with it - but I hate feeling like I need to grind or 'do chores' of any kind in it. Once that feeling kicks in, I pick up something else and come back when it feels fresh again.

Its actually great that it came out the same time as Destiny 2's expansion because they really balance each other out.

I liked odyssey and I like this. The only thing that I wish this game did like Odyssey was let you get different weapons instead of upgrading

I dunno Odyssey had too much I guess freedom...I'm not too sure hot to articulate it but there was too many side shyt and ancillary systems like the whole war and different sides thing involved for me. The narrative in Odyssey IMO seems to be on the back burner. I feel like Origin and this one to a lesser extent the narrative is more focused.
