You'll are just disgrace specially if you live in a place heavily populated by your own people, who u don't even understand. I mean I aint even latino but at one point I picked the language up off the strength of residing in a heavily Mexican neighborhood.

I spoke it when we stayed in Panama but once we came to the states
I wasnt forced to so I just sort of forgot..

I can communicate if need be but im not very fluent,
it sort of became a phobia to publicly speak spanish from a young age

Its not "pride" its just a fact of life that I grew up in the united states and I never needed spanish and I dont feel like I have to explain myself or apologize for it so there it is. When someone that's latino tries to give me shyt about not knowing spanish I dont just sit there and take their verbal abuse so maybe I come off as prideful but it isnt really about the language for me.

Tienes mas oportunidades de conseguir un buen empleo si eres bilingue en este pais. Yo simpre le doi gracias a mis padres que me enseñaron hablar el español que ingles... I may not speak it but I can read it and knowing spanish and english isnt really a skill, I can throw a rock outside my window and hit 5 people that speak both languages so the market is already saturated right there.

If you knew another language like chinese or arabic that would be impressive. The 21st century belongs to Asia, so knowing Mandarin or Korean + english =
