Any tools you could recommend for installing a head unit? Just got a Kenwood receiver and I need some crimping & pry tools

I've browsed many forums that have been littered with terrible car audio advice

Now I'm here to help

I first installed a stereo at 14 with my dad and been hooked since.

I work IT full time and some time consult at a high end shop out here in NYC

Looking to upgrade sound? Want to better your current set up? What to know current deals?

Ask away..

Currently I have 2 Sundown Audio Zv4-12s, sundown amps, 8 Rockford 6x9s and components in the front on a JL audio 6 channel amp. In all I’m probably running about 5000 rms in a 08 impala. I’ve done a lot of things to the electrical system like, HO Alternator, 3 red top batteries, zero gauge (standard Big 3 stuff)., sound deadener, etc I’ve had my car since about 09 and just upgraded over the years.

In about a year or two I’m considering buying a Lexus or BMW possibility (maybe a new ATS or CTS). Most likely not going to be running all that powers but I’m sure I’ll need the BIG 3 upgrade if I put a system in the car.

I know you can put systems in these cars but is it really recommended giving the electrical component of these cars and cars now a days? I would also assume in this case I need to get my work done at a ‘high end’ shop with certified personnel rather than the place in the hood I I’ve been going to for years.

Ideally I would want a set up similar to what's in this M5

About how much would something like that run on just labor in your area?

In my area(NYC), that's easily 10k in labor alone

2 questions.....

Whats your experience been with infinite baffle? I want to get a 15 and make the trunk my enclosure. I would have it fire at the back seat.

2 is it better to get one big amp or 2 separate amps for components/subs? 15 is a single coil 4 ohm so I'm guessing a separate stereo amp bridged will do it.

Bonus question, can I get away with just sealing my doors or do I really need to deaden them too?

why just 1 15 or is that all you have for the space for?

Use 2 amps. A monoblock for your subs, and a 4 channel for your front doors.

Seal AND deaden is the way to go
