In some African countries a foreigner cannot own land.
In Uganda foreigners can only buy land under lease hold . Only Ugandan citizens can own land outright
Plus I here alot of stories of people buying land but it's a scam .
Rent is just easier for me and as well cheaper.

Some people buy cars, some people buy properties in foreign country. All comes down to personal preference I'd say.
