can't have a character like red as your main in a series or the bytch ass anime fanboys wouldn't watch it. Haven't you notice how all the main characters in an anime share the same traits??Not sure how much you know but Red is the character of the original Red game, the inspiration of the anime series' Ash, with Gary being based of Blue, the main character in the Blue game. Red however was used as the protagonist of the Pokemon manga, and it's a running joke of how much of a bad-ass he is compared to Ash.
