Yes they'd offer him another plea right before going to verdict but wouldn't they make it a little heavier depending on how confident they are?

Typically a plea deal stays on the table. They can do whatever they want though.

Look at thuggs trial. Longest trial in Georgia history I believe and still ended in a plea deal. Which got better as time went on
