You can't tell me this Houston dikkrider was bubbling in his hood (Harlem) or city (NY)

Dude came out of nowhere and got put on Drake's tour in less than 6 months of dropping his first unofficial record

Questionable YouTube buzz -> Hot 97 airplay out of nowhere as an unsigned rapper with one song out -> white publications (Pitchfork, Complex) jumping on the dikk -> Major label deal with RCA/Sony

Read up on his history: ASAP Rocky - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

or maybe fans are just quick to crown new "stars" now :mjpls:

care to explain to me what the hell is an industry plant???

if it's referring to the crime Operation etc then no need to explain..

What the fukk is a industry plant and why is a bad thing?

it's a term to describe people with suspect come-up stories meaning they were artificially planted as a "hot new underground artist on the come up" by industry people

red flags include coming up way too fast or getting major looks from other artists or the media before accomplishing anything with their music yet

it's also suspect if you're supposedly a locally rooted artist but your own hood never fukked with you until the white media started supporting you out of nowhere

But what's way too fast?

Someone puts up a song/video and it's all over the world in 2 minutes.

I remember when Purple Swag and Peso came out and it made me :leon: and I looked forward to his project.

I mean LiveLongASAP wasn't his first project

ASAP Rocky - Deep Purple // Free Mixtape @ DatPiff.com

came out in July of last year and had Purple Swag on it.

And what do they need to accomplish with their music before getting press or looks from other artists?
