I knew one of the first posts in here would be a damn excuse of some sort. Yeah, poverty is sure making these nikkas shoot each other at an astronomical rate. Once they shoot somebody (never robbing them or anything) they become rich and never have to worry about poverty again, right? They are killing to get food, right? You should take your own advice and actually look up the statistics in Oakland which factually state that crime is not down unless your only criteria for crime is murders everything else is up significantly.
Because you and that other guy I quoted are talking as if there are good jobs just waiting around, and Oakland brehs re just lazy and don't want to work. I'm trying to see ALL these great jobs they qualify for that they ignore to be bums, intead of just talking.
General poverty creates the environment. It's not ALL of it, but, again, productive people with shyt to lose 99/100 don't do crime and goofy shyt like that. You have a point in your last paragraph, but you have to think, how many Black men are making money on SM, and how many more will be allowed (yes, ALLOWED) to make that type of legit money, along with the crazy odds one will make life changing money on these platforms. There is a reason most of the successful brehs on Youtube are c00ns who buck their eyes and make those corny faces on the thumbnails, while talentless, terrible cacs make exponentioally more money and are boosted by the platform.

Cool. Still requires a diploma and typing, which many poor Blacks don't have, sadly. Those jobs I was referring to just required to to be healthy enough to do them. My grandfather (Rest In Power) had a 5th grade education, served in the Korean War, came home, got a job at Bethlehem Steel, took care of my grandmother who barely ever worked and their 5 children, BUILT a house, until he retired with a pension. That is all but impossible now. There is a shortage of 911 dispatchers for fire, ambulance, police in the city. The wait times for an answer and for a unit to arrive are abnormally long it is highlighted in the letter in the OP...

Who’s job is it to make sure kids study, pay attention, and do well in school? Who’s job is it to make sure kids know they need to make something of themselves? I learned how to type in 9th grade. We could choose two electives. I chose Keyboarding, because I knew typing was a necessary skill in life. Sophomore year, I did Word Processing, and learned Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

You had insight, guidance or both. Expecting people to magically turn around and start being about shyt is not realistic. nikkas are out here lost. The masses will need shepherding to do a 180. It doesn't happen by itself. 400 years of destructive "training" requires intervention at several levels to reverse.
One thing Ill counter with is, even IF someone can get a municipal job in the bay area that pays something lie 80k starting salary, they run into another problem which is affordable housing.
